Dr. Chambers himself is a soft spoken, nice, seemingly knowledgeable man. HOWEVER his wife that works the front desk, does his billing and is the nurse is a horrible individual. She is unfriendly, rude, condescending and outright REFUSES to bill ANY secondary insurance. She collected my copay each visit and the only way for me to get the money back from my secondary is for her to bill them or provide me with the information needed to send it in myself (I have not had to pay a co-pay in over 13 years of having 2 insurances). She states that 'by law' she does not have to bill the secondary or provide me with the information necessary for me to do it myself. It took me calling her almost a month and and a half after my first appointment just to get her to file to my primary insurance. She talks over me on the phone so that I cannot say or ask what I need to and she hangs up on me when she thinks she has made her point and refuses to return any of my phone calls. There is no way to get around her to speak to the doctor himself. I will never EVER see this doctor again because of his wife. I was forced to this time because I was admitted to the hospital and he was the doctor on staff at the time. I am so glad to see that I am not alone, there are bad reviews for Dr. Chambers, about his wife specifically all over the internet. I intend to spread the word about his practice so that no one is ever subjected to his wife (nurse, office manager, biller). I would NEVER recommend this office, and will make sure anyone that I know who needs an infectious disease doctor NEVER calls him. I even made a call to the hospital to make sure that if I am ever hospitalized again I have other options for an on staff ID doctor, there are. If you are ever hospitalized at Missouri Baptist- YOU HAVE OPTIONS. He shares an office with an absolutely amazing surgeon. I hate that their names are even affiliated. If I could go see him and not have to deal with this woman I would consider a higher review, but it is just the Doctor and his wife so you WILL have to deal with her if you see him.
