I was incredibly pleased with my entire experience with Birdsong. I called several companies that were accredited on the BBB and decided to go with Birdsong for the removal of my garage door. The office staff was always very pleasant, they were able to provide a bid from my description/information which saved us both time. Their price was the most reasonable I had found, and I was pleased with their responsiveness and educated questions so I decided to go with them. They were flexible and accommodating with scheduling, the technician Dale showed up within the time window, review the scope of work and cost, and efficiently did the job. He was very pleasant and polite. The price was the same they had quoted me on the phone, overall a great experience.

I would use Birdsong Garage Door again. - Jess

The technician arrived the day after I called the company. He replaced a cable attached to a spring for the overhead garage door. (The cable had frayed, and then snapped.) At my request, he examined other components of the garage door system, and told me what he found. He showed me that the rollers were in good shape, but that the other cable attached to a spring had frayed. He quoted me the price of replacing the other cable, which I ended up having him replace. He explained what I could do regarding preventative maintenance. Throughout, he was polite and patient.

Called the Birdsong Company in reference to my garage door. Made appointment for April 10th to have someone come out and look at the garage door. Someone came to my home on the afternoon of April 10th. He did not introduce himself. Just said that “I am here to fix your garage”. I corrected him and said you mean “look at the garage”. He came into my home and I walked him to the garage entrance in the family room. He looked from the door and stated, “I know what’s wrong, you have a broken spring and you will need a new garage door. The spring could not be “fixed”. He went on to say that they could not do anything to the garage door until we cleaned out our garage. He went to his truck and brought me back a paper with a quote for a insulated door and un-insulated door, then left. At no point in time was I told at the point of making the appointment, receiving a confirmation call for the appointment or when he handed me the paper with the quote that there would be a fee charged to me. I have received a bill for $84 from this company. They even charged me for gas. This person spent less than 5 minutes at the door of my garage and I have received an invoice for “work performed”. I have contacted the company twice since receiving this bill on May 20th. I was first told by Mark at 8:08pm on May 20th that just because they did not advertise on the website that there is a service fee, does not mean that they do not have a service fee. It’s just not advertised. I called and spoke with Greg on 5/21/2015 at 7:49am. I was told by Greg that more than likely I told the person on the original call I needed someone to “fix” my garage and did not specifically say “ I need someone to come out and give me a quote on what it would cost to “replace”, my garage door is why I am being charged. I am not privy to the correct words to use when dealing with garage door repair companies. I feel that this company has dishonest business practices to not disclose that a fee is involved in coming to your home to look at your garage door. I believe ultimately that is the pull for this kind of business to generate additional income. They scare the homeowner into paying a fee for no services rendered or run the risk of a lien or adverse credit issues.
