Andrew J. White, MD, is the Chair of Pediatrics at Saint Louis University School of Medicine and Pediatrician-in-Chief of SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, where he holds the Robert W. Wilmott Endowed Professorship. Dr. White is a nationally recognized pediatric rheumatologist and immunologist who specializes in the care of children with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, juvenile dermatomyositis, immunodeficiencies, and other diseases. He is one of only a handful of pediatricians in the world recognized for the care of children with Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT), also known as Osler-Weber-Rendu disease. HHT is an underrecognized genetic disorder that leads to abnormalities of the blood vessels. Dr. White earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern in 1994 and completed a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric rheumatology and immunology at Washington University School of Medicine before joining the faculty in 2000.He's received several awards for clinical teaching excellence and was the recipient of the University’s Samuel R. Goldstein Leadership Award and the Distinguished Clinician Award. He also was named the Phillip R. Dodge Scholar in Pediatrics.
