HELENS POLICE DEPARTMENT As Chief of Police, I am pleased to welcome you to the St. Helens Police Department. Originally established in the late 1890's, the St. Helens Police Department currently employs nineteen police officers, one code enforcement officer and an office specialist. The department also has a reserve unit of five volunteer officers. Our dedicated staff serves a population of twelve thousand people, covering almost five square miles. This web page is part of our on-going efforts to bring more effective and efficient police services to the citizens of St. Helens.
