I was attempting to purchase 2 penn rod and reel combos, spin fisher 6500 and a spin fisher 7500.
Both at $199.99 each along with assorted tackle.
The purchase would've been around $500 with everything I brought to the front counter.
I've shopped at other west marine locations and never had any issues.
I asked the woman at the front register if they spool reels, simple question. She wasn't sure.
I replied that I purchased a rod and reel combo from academy sports and the spooled it for free and she told me I should go to academy sports then. I left my purchase right there in the store and walked out!!! Not to return!!!
I found a mom and pop place up the road called the avid angler who was more than happy to sell me a couple of penn combos and tackle and he spooled the reels to.
If that's west marines attitude they can keep the products right there in the store.
By the way, the avid angler was much cheaper
