Kru is derived from the French word "Cru" meaning raw, uncooked and unpasteurized. Established in 2005, Kru Restaurant provides innovative cuisine that is a fusion of Asian, European, and American ingredients and cooking techniques with a heavy influence of Japanese sushi and traditions. We pride ourselves in our mission to provide fresh, seasonal, flavorful food of the highest quality, beautifully prepared and presented. Service was great, very attentive, but the sushi was three stars and overpriced. I liked Pangaea Bier Cafe better, which is close by.

Terrible service

Kru has amazing sushi - it's a shame their service is so terrible. I wish the managers would listen to the complaints and make some changes, but I guess as long as they're getting business they're not worried about returning customers. The other problem is the lack of a full bar - seems odd for an establishment on J street.
