Can anyone say money hungry?

Bring your pets here if you really don't give a $^&@ about them. What a misleading place. Yes, it's clean and on first glance, it's a normal vet office. Don't fall for it. They don't care about you or your pet. They're not careful in the medications they prescribe and they're not mindful that people that adore their pets do have budgets. Try any other place in the area but this one.

Not professional or compassionate. These people are not true animal lovers, and I wouldn't consider them to be experts in their field.

If you are looking for a veterinarian, look no further than Ruckersville Animal Hospital. Owned and operated by a husband and wife team, Chip and Caroline Godine (both vets), this animal hospital will satisfy all of your (and your pet's) needs. I have taken my dogs there for many years for a wide variety of medical issues - preventive care, wound and injury events, and even end-of-life decisions for an elderly and ailing dog. The professionalism, care, and compassion shown to all my animals has been amazing. The facility is neat, clean, and orderly, and the staff and technicians are helpful and friendly. I would heartily recommend this facility.

The service was poor, and now I'm poor!

I'm willing to bet Dr. Godine either wrote the good reviews himself, or propositioned someone to! My dog saw a fill-in female doc from another office, who did literally absolutely nothing but break me. She was rude, and that's being kind. I understand that she's not a regular doctor there, but I complained via email and in person after the fact, and absolutely nothing was done (probably because that poor excuse of a vet was still there when I complained). Dr. Godine may be fine, I don't know. I've lost all respect for him though, after he failed to respond to my concerns.

These docs don't care about your furry friend, just your Ben Franklins!

Dr. Godine was incredibly kind and helpful in caring for our thirteen-year-old labrador. He helped give her a wonderful quality of life by doing laser therapy so she would not be in pain with her hips. It gave us a peace of mind. He also diagnosed her with Lyme's Disease and treated her immediately after another vet contributed her fatigue with old age. Thank you, Dr. Godine, for your expertise and for your care for our dog. Currently, our puppy, another Labrador, is getting great care from both of the Godine's. You are both the best vets we have worked with - intelligent, caring and sensitive to animals and owners. Dr Godine is one of the most caring, compassionate vets I gave ever met. I urge anyone considering pet care that your "best friend" deserves the best. Negative reviewers: shame on you...bet you would have something negative to say about any vet you visit. Why not bring up your concerns while you are at the clinic instead of behind his back? Because your allegations are unfounded? I speak the truth...and I trust this clinic.

My 11 year old dog had surgery a few weeks ago and the Doctors and Staff at this Hospital were wonderful. They took time to answer all my questions and told me to call to check on him any time during surgery for an update. The Doctor promptly called me as soon as the surgery was over. I could not have asked for them to be more caring and they called several times to check on him after the surgery. I highly recommend this hospital for excellent care at a very fair price!

Very little compassion. I wouldn't exactly call the care "quality," but it was so-so, as was the service. Not a good value in my opinion.

I haven't seen Dr. Godine, but I saw another Dr. and wasn't pleased. My hopes are that he is as good as he claims, because he sure needs to make up for another very apathetic Dr. here.

I think Dr. Godine is the best vet ever. He is so smart and caring towards animals.He has saved so many of my cats. I see him put animals way ahead of the money so I am not sure the below comments could not be directed towards him at all. He is always available when you need him and he knows all the latest info on pets.... DR. Godine is top notch in every area,,,I am blessed to know Dr. Richard Godine,,:) He has found and cured cat diseases that VA. Tech could not find,,,,

We have had several disappointing reviews lately, which I'd like to address. We strive to provide quality and responsible patient care at a reasonable price. I feel we consistently meet these goals. Occasionally we will fall behind, causing clients to wait. This is due either to emergencies or unexpected problems requiring immediate treatment. We hope you understand - we will also do the same for your pet if needed. We also try to keep our prices as low as possible, while allowing us to provide quality and state-of-the-art care and diagnostics. Not every condition can be treated quickly or inexpensively and choices can sometimes be difficult. I wouldn't suggest taking your pets here. However, if it's your only option and your pet is in dire need, I guess you should try it. I think I would first try all of the other vets in the Greene/Charlottesville area. This one just didn't do it for me.

They didn't kill my dog or anything, but the care is certainly nothing to brag about.

Does anyone else think it's funny that the vet wrote a "review" on here and gave himself five stars LOL? I can't review that particular vet, but I saw a female veterinarian at RAH and was a little put off.
