Justin Havner and his crew recently refinished about 1100 sq ft of hardwood on our first floor. It was done in two phases so that we wouldn’t have to warehouse our furniture during the work. You cannot tell where Phase 1 ends and Phase 2 begins. A perfect match! They showed up on time and worked diligently all day. Justin found a spot by an exterior door where the underside of the wood had become rotted from water leaking in. He replaced the wood without ever mentioning an additional charge. He said that they would cover the kitchen cabinet doors with plastic before we had a chance to ask him to. All doorways and staircases were also tightly sealed with plastic. After sanding, they went over the entire floor with a filler that filled in all scratches, pits, and cracks and also eliminated all the squeaks we had, which was an unexpected bonus! Even though I has removed all the shoe molding, they finished the floors right up to the edge of the baseboards. It took a total of 5 days for the 2 phases and it was all done at a very competitive price. I would not hesitate to recommend Justin and his crew to anyone for wood floor refinishing.

We received a very reasonable quote to refinish existing hardwood and lay new hardwood in the kitchen of our Royal Oak bungalow.
Justin Havner and his team did a great job making the existing floors look like brand new! The new kitchen floor looks great and they took excellent care of our new kitchen cabinets; there were no scratches or stain on any of them. Their attention to detail was great with making sure everything was 100% complete. I highly recommend this company if you want beautiful hardwood floors in your home.

Al and his team recently completed sanding and refinishing hardwoods in my new home and did a wonderful job. The floors had faced years of neglect and had many scratches and cracks. Al's team restored my floors and they look great!



Showed up on time and provided a quote, were able to start 1 week later and were able to complete the job in 3 days. On the first day they sanded the floors and put down stain so that I could see how the color would look on my floors before I had to make the choice.



They made it very easy for me to get back in the house and continue with my move-in.

I was on cloud nine when seeing my beautiful wood floors after Al Havner and Sons refinished them. Everyone says they look like brand new floors and they do. The floors are the original ones from the 40's. I didn't want any gold or red hues so Al suggested chestnut and I love them. I will be calling them back to get other rooms done. Don't look any further this is the company you want.

The first thing that impressed me about All Havner & Sons was their website. It was so informative that I decided to call them first, and once Al came to take a look and give me an estimate, I decided no other calls were necessary. We were finishing three bedrooms upstairs and since we didn't want to move furniture downstairs, they completed the job in two steps, two weeks apart. They also helped move a large dresser down and out of our house.. Already having done our stairs and hallway upstairs four years prior, Al Havner & Sons needed to match the stain used by the last company (the old co. never documented color for me). They got so close that only we know the truth. Each step was going to be a two day job, yet each only took one day to complete. This included removing carpeting, and many staples. Each of the crew members, Justin (head honcho), Diego, Wade and Brian) were on time, respectful, well-mannered, friendly and cleaned up nicely when jobs were complete. Also, Al was informative, friendly, respectful and stopped by during the jobs. In addition, I had a few questions and concerns before and during the jobs regarding the painters that were scheduled shortly after and Al always answered his phone or called back within moments. I cannot express how pleased I am with Al Havner & Son's work and the expeditiousness with which it was carried out. Their work is professional and almost dust -free. The floors are beautiful and as smooth as China silk! The team is courteous and friendly. They removed all debris and left the work area spotless. Thanks Guys! I had carpet on some parts of the floor surrounded by hardwood. Al and sons did a fantastic job of ripping the carpet and installing borders, and refinisihing the entire area. No one will say that this was an add on. The floors are beautiful, that i do not want to put furniture on them. I definitely recommend them.

We decided to rip up the carpeting in our living room and dining room because of foul smells left from the previous owners. There was beautiful red oak underneath almost completely ruined from dog urine. Al and his guys replaced the damaged wood and restored the entire floor to better than original condition, and at a very reasonable price. It looks like a totally brand new floor! We couldn't be happier. They were very professional, courteous and know what they're doing.

Febuary 2012, I sold my house in Troy and purchased a condo in Troy. I had a few weeks to get the condo in move-in condition which included installing hardwood floors, trim and moldings.I had a very specific stain color in mind. Al Havner took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for as far as: type of wood, stain color,contrast of grain,trim molding, clear finish coat, price and the fact that I needed the work done ASAP. Al helped me make an educated decision. I went with premium white oak, Justin and Ron took the time and had patience in helping me pick the perfect stain color by sampling several colors on the white oak. They used a technique which raises the grain in the wood before applying the stain which gave me exactly what I wanted. I had several estimates,nothing even compared to Al Havner and Sons Hardwood Floors in professionalism, price, the highest quality materials including environmentally friendly finishes. The work was completed by the masters in the business, it is so apparent that Al has been in business for a long time and knows what he is doing. Justin and Ron are professionals that are extremely hard working and accommodating. I couldn't be happier. Al is and his workers did my floors in my first home - original 1960's home with beautiful hardwood floors that had been badly damaged by pets and age. Once Al was done, my floors looked brand new! They came on short notice and worked around my schedule. Now my floors are the first thing everyone notices in my home and everyone LOVES them! VERY impressed. AMAZING service! Al Havner and Sons, did a fantastic job, when doing my floors. I had an Idea in my head and they made it come to life on my floors. They are very good workers and know whats best when it comes to redoing your floors. I cant wait to show everyone the finishing touches to my new house and now my brand new amazing floors. They are also very work efficiant and didnt drag there feet like the one company i started to use(i wont do that again) These guys really know there floors and the best products to use on your floors to keep them looking fresh and new.
