Deciding to make a change is a difficult decision. Actually making the change can be even harder. I can work with you in a variety of different ways, both in short and long-term therapy—depending on your needs. I work with individuals, couples, and families in a relaxed atmosphere.I have such diversity in my practice. On a given day, I could work with women, men, couples, families, siblings, children, parents, roommates, or co-workers.In addition to my work with couples in distress, I have done extensive work in the clinical area of anxiety, including social anxiety and panic disorder, and trauma issues, including domestic violence, sexual assault, and abuse issues. I also have extensive experience working with adolescents and college students and and have taught at several colleges and universities.I am a pure Marriage and Family Therapist - both my master's degree and my Ph.D are in Marriage and Family Therapy, which is unique in Michigan. I have served on the Michigan Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (MAMFT) Board in MI and worked as the Executive Administrator for the MFT Board in Kansas. Dr. Hutchings is a Clinical Fellow & Approved Supervisor American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy. She is also certified as a facilitator for the PREPARE/ENRICH, an online assessment used for either premarital or married couples to assess strengths and weakness in their relationship.
