Every business has to have rules even if it is a ma and pa place. Sometimes especially because of that very fact they have to work harder and longer to compete with big box facilities. Most deposits I have paid are non-refundable. They allow a credit or pick up of the (30-36) deposit if you cancel before the 1st of the month before the holiday. They have 40 rooms. And normally fill a month or two before a holiday and turn away many. So when a last moment cancel comes you not only let down their budget but other families that would have wanted to come to the kennel. As far as 5.00 a day fee...your dogs must not have been house trained or made messes in their run. That is the only reason for a fee as you mention. And they would tell you everything about how your pets stay was as that is how wonderful they are...they won't lie to you about how your pet(s) do just for money. I have used the family for over 10 years through many pets and they have not raised their rates as others tell me the places they use have. If you feel you were treated poorly it must have been a reflection of how you were treating them. I have never known them to be anything but kind to those that are the same.

We have known Sam & Fred for a little over a year now and there is no other place like Hyer Luv! Sam & Fred are the sweetest, most kindest people I have ever met. They love our Shelby like she is their own and always have our Shelby's best interest at heart. I know that when I drop her off for daycare or for grooming that she is always in good hands and receives top notch care.

I have been taking my "kid" to Sam and Fred since he was a puppy. He went to daycare there every week day for 10 months. They potty trained him as I work long days and could not get home. They love him like one of their own. I am so grateful for having people like Sam and Fred who love our fur kids as much as we do! In addition they spotted all of my "kids" chronic urinary issues, that I would not have noticed, and advised me to have a vet check on him. Luckily he is now on prescription food and doing great. They have helped me and my "kid" in so many ways!

Hyer Luv is one of the best grooming/kenneling/daycare facilities in MI. Ellie loves Sam and Fred. They are the nicest, sweetest people. They do whatever they can to try and work with you. Ellie has been there for boarding daycare and a nail trimming (and she HATES her nails trimmed). Ellie has always been well cared and loved by them. I have NEVER had a single issue with them or their policies. But then again, I listened to them during our initial interview, read my literature from Sam when I got home and either called or emailed Sam and Fred with any questions. I would caution anyone reading the negative review by Dean G, to take it with a grain of salt. I suspect he is like a lot of people nowadays and seems to think the world revolves around him, even if he is the one being rude and nasty. Also, keep in mind, he is the only 1 star review on here for them.

Great, reasonably priced groomer. They treat my pup like one of their own "kids".

I can't recommend this place highly enough! Not only did they love on our puppy they took extra special care of her. We had our interview and they accepted both of our babies. Not long after one of them passed away. They were kind enough not to charge us for our puppy that had passed away prior to using the kennel for the first time! There was some misunderstanding in regards to our kitten and Sam bent over backwards to help us find a location that he could get the shots he needed prior to coming! Fred taught us how to walk our puppy the correct way and gave her extra loving because she was depressed over losing her best friend. I could not have asked for a better place and better people to take care of our babies while we were on vacation!

I've been taking my dogs to Sam and Fred at Hyer Luv for many years. As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, it is the only place I can give by name as a reference for clients and know, without a doubt, that they will be well cared for. Many have come back to me and thanked me for the referral to Hyer Luv. Over the years, they have done the following:

1) Sent me photos of our dog playing while we was on vacation to let us know she was ok.

2) Given insulin injections to our diabetic dog. 3) Given me great behavioral advice after a car accident, to help my dog recover from her car anxiety. (She did this at no charge, even after I offered to pay for a consult.) 4) Met me at the vehicle to say goodbye to our beloved Lucy, the day before we said our final goodbye. She brought treats, and prayed over my girl, and cried with me.

These people are wonderful, and worth their weight in gold.

Excellent facility for boarding and grooming. I have taken my fur children there for 10+ years. I can leave them knowing that they will be treated as if they were the owners dogs. Both Fred and Sam are dedicated to animal care and education. I would bring my pup no where else

I have known Sam and Fred Hyer since 1998. These selfless people only what to do the best for any animal that comes into their loving care. I have gotten all my puppies from them, and have even had my dogs groomed and boarded there. I know my babies get the best, because that is all that Sam and Fred will give!

Sam is the most caring and compassionate person I know! My fur kids love her, and there are precious few people in the world that I trust with their care. Sam at Hyer Luv kennels is one of them.

Sam is a great groomer. The facilities are great also. I highly recommend !!!!

Sam Is one of the most caring groomers/breeders we have ever had the pleasure to meet. I would recommend her to anyone who wants their fur baby done with care and compassion. there is a reason they are called LOVE kennels.

As a breeder, trainer I'm extremely particular about my babies and who handles them, where they go. Sam, one of the owners, is one of the most caring people I've ever met. She is extremely knowledgeable and always goes that extra mile. I can not recommend sam and Hyer Luv Kennel enough.

What a wonderful place this is to board and groom your dog. Sam is such a caring individual that is really in tune with what is best for my pets. She is very knowledgeable. I learn new things every time we talk. Sam has been in business for a very long time as I understand and it sure shows in her beautiful grooms. If you need a kennel or groom in this area go see Sam!

Sam is the best groomer my dog has every been to! I know that she is in good hands while she is there. Our vet even commented on how well she is groomed and how well maintained her ears are. When I mentioned that she sees Grandma Sam at Hyer Luv, the vet responded "well of course she is well taken care of, we love Sam!"



Our Miniature Schnauzer tends to be skittish about walking into vet's offices or groomers that she has been to even once before. After being groomed by Sam every two months for over a year, our dog still walks into Hyer Luv without hesitation. This proves to me that she is treated well while she is there!
