This entire business is a scam...

This entire business is a scam.

The Quick Version:

The staff in the leasing office are extremely rude, and they will attempt to con you out of your money at every available opportunity. The apartments are in poor condition, and maintenance is absolutely worthless, refusing to remedy any problems that do not affect the leasing office or showcase units. This complex is run by a truly despicable group of people, and should not be considered by anyone who values their living conditions or money.

The Long Version:

I've had trouble with apartment complexes before, but I never believed that a business could so blatantly attempt to scam people, and that they would actually attempt to back their actions up afterword. In all honesty, I've never seen such bad business be conducted without reprieve or remorse.

Our issues with the Oaks began before we even moved in. After several conversations regarding our lease, we arrived at the signing and were surprised to find that the paperwork reflected a significantly increased duration and rate. I was amazed that an apartment complex would wait until we were entirely committed to a decision, and then attempt to take advantage of us when it was too late to change our minds. After some dispute and argument, we were able to reach a compromise with the complex, but our trouble didn't end there.

We weren't able to see the unit that we were moving into until the exact day of our move-in, since it was constantly "still under work" during the lease-signing process. Upon moving in, we found the apartment to be in much poorer condition than we expected, having shoddy cabinets, a leaking dishwasher, and smoke detectors that would go off at seemingly random intervals. Naturally, we submitted maintenance requests for every issue that we encountered, but none of them were solved in a timely or effective manner. Maintenance usually conducted a minimum of two visits for a given problem before taking action what so ever on an issue.

In conclusion, if you value your money, if you want to live in a nice apartment, or if you simply don't want to be scammed by a ruthless group of con artists, please do not consider this complex when moving.

Lived there twice. HUGE apart...

Lived there twice. HUGE apartments. Staff is extremely nice and welcoming...even AFTER move-in (unlike other places). Safe area (Police Dept. within walking distance); Close to pretty much everything. Grounds are well kept. Would def. return!
