Eric Marvin received his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. Dr. Marvin has certifications from the American Osteopathic Association, Virginia Osteopathic Medical Association, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, Osteopathic Medical Network of Excellence in Education, Medical Society of the Virginias, North American Spine Society, and The Joint Cerebrovascular Section.Dr. Marvins clinical expertise includes arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), brain tumors, carotid artery stenosis, complex spine, skull base tumors, spine tumors, aneurysm clipping, carotid endarterectomy, and vascular bypass. He has several notable publications including Morphology and Distribution of Neurons Expressing Serotonin 5-HT1A Receptors in Rat hypothalamus, Atlantoaxial Osteomyelitis Causing Paresis and Respiratory Compromise: A case Report and Review of the Literature, Primary Thoracolumbar Rudimentary Meningocele: A Case Report and Review of the Literature, Closed Reduction of Facet Dislocations: A Technical Note, and Traumatic Cervical Facet Fractures with Focal Kyphosis: Predicting the Need for Surgery.Dr. Marvin has been a visiting instructor at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and a faculty instructor at the Osteopathic Neurosurgery Residents Boot Camp in Blacksburg, VA. He currently holds an appointment as an assistant professor at both the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. He and his family live in Roanoke, VA.
