Renter Beware

A note of warning if you are considering renting from Coventry Cove Apartments in Riverton, Utah: Before moving in, point out physical discrepancies, such as stained rugs, damaged blinds, cracked microwave door handles, and any other such items as well as take pictures of them for proof. You will be double and triple charged for normal wear and tear items and the management will tell you one thing in person not to worry about it while later on they will deny they ever said that. You must give a full 2 months notice when leaving, EVEN IF SOMEONE DIES, otherwise you have to still pay it. They say they are going to make repairs such as the parking lot but never do. They say they will fix the sprinkler system but they never do. Although they list “NO SOLICITING”, the manager is constantly selling things such as pocket books, scented candles, bake wear every few weeks and posts constant flyers on your door about them. You cannot drink water from the tap without getting sick. You will have to get bottled water or go to the club house for water that goes through a reverse osmosis, and that runs out often. Oh did I mention that this water is located in the club house which gets rented out for parties and has different two hour cleaning times so this water may not be readily available? They say they have a hot tub and heated pool but those are constantly under repair and unavailable. If you have a pet and it gets out in the hall by mistake for a minute, you can be fined $50. The Manager is very moody and will only appear very friendly and helpful until about a month after you move, then watch out. There are more problems than I can list here, but Coventry Cove is not the best choice for an over 55 age apartment living, even if it is cheaper than a nursing home. Better to look elsewhere.
