No complaints about overall treatment for my pet; 5 star. I have spent a lot of money here and have never been treated like this before this day 01/05/2017 However, receptionist was Horrible basically told us "take your pet and Go" She did not even let us sign in to show we were even there! I assume to show there was no one to come into the office at that time, We will Never be Back again! This receptionist has Zero customer service skills and it's unfortunate for this particular office.

You will not find better care and expert knowledge for your pet anywhere else. Effingham Animal Hospital is tops. They now run 24/7 with emergency after office hours. You no longer have to go to a strange doctor with your pet if something should happen after hours. When you leave your sick pet at the hospital, it is never alone. they have vet techs there 24/7. When one of our rescues had Parvo, I could call at 3 AM to check on her.

I am so happy that I found the Effingham Animal Hospital. I have used other vet clinics before and was very unhappy with them. Dr. Bailey goes above and beyond to insure quality vet care for your pet. We just got our two year old cat, Tinker back after a midnight emergency call to Dr. Bailey. He met us at the veterinary hospital and inserted a catheter to allow Tinker to void his blocked bladder. He told us that if we had not brought Tinker in that night, he would have died before morning.

Tinker is an important part of our family and Dr. Bailey and his entire staff treated Tinker and our entire family with excellent professionalism and kindness.

I should have listened to my w...

I should have listened to my wife. When we moved to Rincon we needed a vet for our cat so my wife tried the Effingham Animal Hospital. After a few visits she began complaining about constantly being nickel and dimed for different test and procedures. She would agree to a procedure bring our cat in and they would tell her she should have Five other things done, when she would tell them no to the additional procedures they would try to guilt her into doing them. She got tired of it and we stopped taking our cat there and found a great vet close by. We wanted to get our cat shaved and the only place that seems to groom cats is the Effingham Animal Hospital. I made the appointment for Thursday morning when the groomer would be in. They told me that the groomer charged about 50 dollars and that if she needed to be sedated it would be another 50. They also wanted to update all her shots; I told them that she was being seen at a different vet they asked me to have the other vet fax them the records. Our vet faxed the records and I thought everything was finally done. Shortly after they called and said they had no fecal test on file and that she needed a fecal test before she could be shaved. I asked if the test was necessary to shave the cat and they said yes that they could do it right before the grooming for around 27 dollars. I agreed to the fecal test and thought it was finally over. I told my wife about all the drama that afternoon and she kept telling me how she will never take our cat there and all the issues she had in the past. I told her the appointment was set and that the groomer doesn’t work there she just comes in and does the grooming. She kept saying she warned me. Today (Wednesday) I received a call from Effingham Animal Hospital to verify my cat’s appointment in the morning. I said we would be there in the morning and thought conversation was over. She then wanted to verify that I intended to have the fecal test done. I said yes that I thought they intended to do the test before the grooming. I thought the conversation was over and the lady informed me that they may have to do an exam if the cat is sedated and that the other girl may have forgot to mention it. So, I asked if the exam fee was part of the sedation fee and I got the run around answer. So I started asking simple questions,

Shaving cost 50, fecal test cost 27, sedation cost 50, is the exam part of those fees or is it separate. She told me it was separate because they had not examined my cat before. I told her they had examined her before that she used to be seen there. She informed me the exam was out of date and had to be done. I asked how much the exam would cost and it was around 35. I told her to cancel the appointment and then she tried to justify the charges. She kept trying to justify all the charges and I kept telling her to cancel the appointment, It was sad you could hear the fear in her voice from losing money. I know the economy is bad but you don’t have to make all the lost money up on screwing over a few clients. I feel bad for the groomer who is losing clients because she works out of a chop shop vet clinic and recommend she find a new establishment. I hate it when my wife is right!

A vet that listens

As my lab grows older and has reached the time in her life when geriatric care is needed, I am comforted by the fact that Dr Bailey is only a phone call away if I have a question or concern about her health and the quality of her life. He is always willing to give the extra time to talk and more importantly listen. They dont push unneeded meds or tests like so many other vets Ive tried over the years, and to me this is more important than anything. Thanks for your kind and personal service over the last few years, it is very much appreciated!
