I had a great experience storing my things at Payless Self Storage in Richmond, CA! The manager, Shale is AWESOME!! He is always so helpful, welcoming and positive! The place is never crowded so I was able to spend time organizing things in my 2 units without people annoyed that I had things in the hallway a few minutes (as has happened in crowded storage unit sites), I always felt safe there even after hours. There is a security person there 24/7. During the day you see the maintenance staff walking around all the time and there are plenty of people in the office too. It was a great experience! I usually hate dealing with storage units. I've moved so many times and I just dread the whole storage unit aspect... but this was pleasantly surprising! Shale keeps that place running great and his big smile is just infective... you couldn't ask for a better storage unit experience!! Oh yeah- I almost forgot!!... they also offer free use of a big truck to bring your stuff and they will even supply the driver if you want! I just drove it myself. The whole process was easy and an awesome bonus! Plus they give you an awesome free lock, and free insurance!! Seriously can't ask for a better storage unit experience!!

Payless Self Storage is amazing. Safe clean and well maintained. The staff are wonderful people. They really helped me through a tough time. I have rented storage and a truck and bought boxes. It's so great to have all these services in one place.

This place is a real gem. Genuinely friendly, competent staff. It's very safe and secure. The storage space was spotless, entire property very well maintained. Made reservation online, received call from friendly Ena within minutes to confirm. They provide a lock, insurance for your stored items and a truck & driver to move your stuff - all included in the rental cost. Totally easy, they're lifesavers.

I just moved my stuff out!! Amazing staff!, they are very helpfully and friendly. Fair prices and a great location? I love that they have a truck and driver for you to use, save me lots of time and money. So, I would recommend them!

This facility is very nicely kept. The staff is friendly and super helpful. Always pleasant to speak with. The prices are competitive and it's super close to the freeway exit. They have a three month special that is about 50% off from their regular price so we are taking advantage if this special. What's best is that although it is three months, you aren't held to keeping the unit for the entire time since they are month to month storage. This works perfectly for us!! Yay! Places like this with their ease of access, friendly staff, and convenience really do make like a lot easier!!!

I don't currently store things there as I no longer have a need, but if I do again, this is the place.
The facility is clean, the security, the manager, the staff, all seemed genuinely helpful and organized.

I have had my things in storage for over six years at Payless Storage. The location is easy to get to, very safe and clean. The staff has always been very nice and friendly. When I was ready to clean out my storage unit, the manager Shale could not have been more gracious or accommodating. If in the future I need storage I will use Payless again. It feels so good to know the things you've stored are in a clean well lighted safe place.

Honestly, I am a very picky professional who does my major research about
everything. I have many many storage units at Payless which are filled with
everything important to me including heirlooms and furniture from my parents
and grandparents. There are places still left that are tried and true business's with
integrity and I can say for sure that Payless is one of them. This is a family owned
business and the difference is obvious. They care, they go out of their way to do
anything and everything they can to help.Units are clean, well lit and easy to get to. These people help with moving, to treating
you with respect and guess what - they actually really do care. I don't 'yelp'
much at all except when I find a place that deserves to be known as great.

This has been a great place to store my household goods and other things. I got a unit upstairs where the unit is insulated and away from the exterior elements such as rain and dust that you would otherwise get with an exterior, drive-up-to, unit.

All of the employees have always been very friendly and helpful. They give a free circular lock that you keep with two keys (they do not keep a key), and for moving my things into the locker, they offered a free moving truck with 25 free miles. I moved from San Francisco so I stayed under the 25 miles.

I also liked the 3 month special which was $70/month for a 10' x 10' locker, which is amazing for the Bay Area! Today I pay the regular price of $159/mo but it has been worth it considering the unit is insulated; I feel it is secure with the security cameras; and it is just 3 minutes from where I work. Moving carts abound throughout the facility and there is an elevator to the second floor to access my unit.

The location is right off of Hwy 580 and Canal Blvd and is easily accessible. They also have extended hours which make it easy to access my things whenever they are needed.

I have been happy keeping my things safe and secure at this storage facility. You will, too. If you do choose to try them out, ask for an insulated unit upstairs. It doesn't cost you extra. If you want a climate controlled unit upstairs, however, that will cost you extra.

Peace of mind that your things are safe and secure, a friendly staff, easily accessible...this storage facility is a gem in the Bay Area.

they are very nice over the phone and in person. Our moving truck was late but then stayed late so that we had time to unload.

I'm in the book business, 33 years now. I've used many many different storage places, dozens all over the Bay Area. But about 15 years ago I discovered Payless, and I've never looked back! I've rented many units there, big spaces, little spaces, and just rented two units there this week, they really are the best around for price, quality and service. And if you actually go around to the other typical places you'll quickly understand that many storage operations are dirty, poorly lit, unsafe, friendly when you are renting, and unfriendly soon as you have signed up and moved in!

But besides being a a great operation, they also have something that is unique I think, an on-site mover guy, Dave Franks, who has helped me for most of the last 15 years, (call first to arrange), a good guy for sure, not the cheapest but he is a pro, has all the moving equipment, and works hard and fast

I had all my treasured possessions here for almost three years and recommend them highly. The staff were always helpful, the place is easy to access and even living on the other side of the country I felt that my belongings were safe, warm, dry. I would absolutely go back if I needed storage again.

It's a clean facility with nice people working in the office. No complaints they take care of business and work with your budget. I have used them for almost a year now and see myself using this facility for a while. I do recommend.

I don't actually store any of my stuff at Payless Storage, but my BFFL does and I helped her move all her stuff into a storage unit. The people who work there are very friendly and always offered us bottled water when we were there. Really great people and the storage units are nice and clean. They also offer camera security and rolling carts. I think they also offer you the use of a moving truck for free.

I don't think it can get much better than this. 100% solar powered, friendly and very helpful service and all that for less price than other places. They even include a nice lock in the price, you don't pay x-tra.

This place has been easy, affordable, just what we needed for our storage. The staff has been very professional and you can tell they are real people who care.

Great service, the people were very friendly and were very helpful! I was a bit worried at first to see if all of my stuff was going to fit (since I am college student and was storing my apartment furniture). It was very spacious, and at a great deal!
