hours away, depending on traffic. There is no place in my area to purchase feeders for my snakes so I had to drive all the way to Jackson to PetCo; who claimed to have "large" rats. When I arrived I discovered that they were the size of field mice - very small, and worse, they wanted $10 each!!! OMG!! Luckily for me the young lady whom I spoke with told me about The Jungle which she said was only 30 minutes from there. I went and was not disappointed!! The young lady who assisted me was very pleasant and had a big smile. She took me immediately to the rats and I was able to get 3 jumbo rats at $15/ea. I was so happy to have found the place and so happy they had large rats!!!! Cupcake was very happy too when I arrived home. LOL!!!

We were treated very rudely by the owner, which surprised me because I thought we had been very good customers. I had purchased many adult rabbits there, many of whom were unwanted pets or were injured, sick or pregnant, because I wanted to make sure those rabbits got good homes. I think the owner became enraged with us after we discovered one of their tiny baby rabbits (likely separated from its mother too soon) who appeared unresponsive and had a huge mass of feces stuck to its vent. I tried to wipe away the feces with a napkin and then showed the baby to the owner so it could be cared for. I've gotten many good rabbits there and paid an average of $40 for each rabbit. Toaster, Olivia (who had a yeast infection that affected the mucous membranes), Marge (who had been attacked by a male and had a torn and bloody ear), Kitty (who was pregnant when I got her from the Jungle and had four babies), Black Buck (ear infection), Hagrid (an unwanted pet brought in who was extremely matted and had to be shaved) and Ghost (an unwanted pet brought in by a customer). I liked the Jungle and very much wanted to support it, but I think the owner should have exercised a little more patience with me. I was only concerned for the life of that one baby rabbit. Now, whenever we show up, the owner comes running out of the office to intercept us and sternly warns us not to go into the rabbit cages. I will probably never return.

The Jungle is the only true pet store in our area. If you don't like it, try going out of state and compare cleanliness and customer service. You'll be back at the Jungle!!

Owner & pets

My grandson has had two snakes , a bunny and a dog from the jungle .

We bought the first snake right after the shop opened, he was healthy and lived a long time til his mom accidently left him out in the sun to long.

The second one lived four years and I don't think he had any desease or problems from the shop.

I've known the owner most of his life and I have never known him to be rude .

He won't take abuse from his customers , I hope!!

I find all my ferret and dove needs and if they don't have it they will usually find it for me. They are a little under staffed so the owner does get upset when asked stupid questions as he is always busy.

It did have an odor but I quickly adjusted to it.They had a large selection of animals and the fledglings were visually healthy. The corals were all open and colourful and the only questionable fish I saw was a large lion fish. There live rock was quality and pest free. They had a large selection of supplies and they were great priced.Overall I believed that there attitude was bearable and it made since since they probably liked animals more than people.

This place is horrible! The guy that owns the store pretends to know things about animals but he doesn't. For one, he does not take care of them properly. Most of the snakes look unhealthy and are very inactive. The pets he is selling to kids (ferrits, guinea pigs, hamsters, etc) are very skidish and non-friendly and most of them are in bad health. I have bought several things from this store (2 bunnys, 1 snake, several fish) and all of them turned out to be in bad health and died. One of the bunnys that died i had taken to a vet and they told me it had a intestinal disease that was caused from the pet store i bought it from not feeding it properly. When we called to complain to him, however, he was very rude then hung up on us. DO NOT do business with the jungle.

RUDE OWNER!!

This owner was extremely rude, and when I commented on it he said "Well, I own the damn place." I will never ever go there again. He has no idea what merchandise he has or doesn't have. He is a JERK!
