Look elsewhere...

My business started using this office for some of our accounting needs in 2010 and as the business grew we relied on their office for all our IRS fillings and tax returns from 2011-2012.About halfway through 2012 I terminated our business relationship with the accounting firm after I confronted the owner about over billing us for several reports and many missing documents filed with the IRS:- Missing 941's for 2011 and 2012- Failure to properly file the extension and tax return for 2010Jeffery was unwilling to negotiate or even discuss the matter and said that if I didn't pay the full balance: "Although you have indicated that billing will be instructed to send us a check for our services, I am reserving our rights to process collection of our services due if not paid in full in 3 days."I reluctantly told billing to paid for the final invoices with the intent of receiving our digital QB files and all other paperwork they filed (with the IRS) and any mail addressed to our business that they had in their possession. CPAs, upon request and within a reasonable period of time must furnish a client or former client with (RCW 18.04.390): Any original papers the client provided to the CPA, or any record the CPA obtained on behalf of the client. A copy of the CPA's working papers or electronic documents, provided the working papers or electronic documents include records that would ordinarily constitute part of the client's records and are not otherwise available to the client. CPAs cannot refuse to return client records pending client payment of outstanding fees.http://www.cpaboard.wa.gov/ConsumerProtection/complaints.shtmlFour weeks later we received only limited documentation, some mail, and some pay stubs and deposit slips, but no electronic QB file or any IRS filings..! Consequently this stopped us from moving on as a business with another accounting firm for many months. And, only after many more requests to Jeffery's office and a signed letter from our new accounting office did we get the QuickBooks files we had been requesting. In summary, he over billed us for incompetency that he admitted to, withheld our documents when we terminated our service with them and then charged us to get any final documents back! If you are looking for accounting firm I would look elsewhere. We also now go with an office that has a CPA and not just an enrolled agent for the IRS. I would say that Jeffery’s ethic and business practices are not in line with the NAEA, Washington State Board of Accountancy, the IRS, nor is he practicing any form of goodwill that his website states about living by a Christian lifestyle.

Great service, fair price - He saved my bacon!

Mr. Ames was plesent to work with and tackled my IRS problems for me. It was a breeze once I sat down in his office and placed everything in his hands. Would recommend his services to anyone. Price was fair and in range of the quote he gave me prior to the service; not inexpensive! You do get what you pay for! Great job.
