Response to "Very Argumentative"

Dr. Homanfar always likes to get to know his patients, so he does talk in great length regarding their teeth and the options they have on treatment. Some patients become overwhelmed when they experience many areas of concerns and they begin hurting or need fillings, root canals etc. The Doctor has been asked many times to “Just pull them out” because they know older people who have dentures and they appear to do fine with them.” Generally, the doctor explains to the patient “That when you have your teeth removed permanently, you will not only have bone start disappearing, also the facial muscles attached to the jaw bone will start receding which will altametly effect the appearance. He also explains that dentures will affect the ability to sense the temperature, consistency, and, as a result, “Flavor” of the food. Nevertheless, the doctor does take into account the patient’s ultimate decision. At no point has the doctor ever accused or insinuated that a patient is a “Drug addict.” He does however; try to find a reason that a patient with extensive decay, especially when they are at a young age, has ever had a history of drug use. The doctor does genuinely care for his patients and he does ask about all forms of a patient’s health history, surgeries and any other form of information that may be helpful in the care of his patients. Patients overall health can be a direct reflection on some of the decay, diseases and other factors that a patient may be experiencing. We are disappointed that our services did not meet the needs of this patient and

We are horrified that any patient would have such a negative experience in our office, we strive to make every patients experience as enjoyable as possible. The clinic was very clean, the people were very friendly, at first. The dentist was sort of nice had not been for the fact that he automatically assumed I was a drug addict because my teeth are not in very good condition. When I told him I wanted two of my teeth pulled, he began to argue with me. He wanted to"save" the teeth which would cost more than triple, a lot more pain, and more time to do. I explained to him that I had already discussed this with my last dentist and I had made the decision to have them pulled, but he continued to argue with me mainly because he wanted me to spend more money in the long run. At this point I had already made up my mind that he was not the dentist I wanted to continue to see. When I went back to the front desk to schedule my extractions, the lady gave me an outrageous number for two teeth and they weren't even putting me under anesthesia and I have pretty good dental insurance. As soon as I had told her that there was no way I could come up with that kind of money, she began telling me that the extractions weren't simple extractions, they were surgical. So if they were surgical, why was I not being put under? At this point I was more than frustrated.

The doctor and his staff were exceptional to my family and I. They made us feel like part of the "family" and I was sad to move to another state. They are very family orientated and are about making you as comfortable as possible!
