Dr. Gomma and his son have been treating my 5 animals for over 14 years and I have not one bad thing to say. They have treated three of my pets for injuries two were severe and I never felt as though I was under informed in fact I have received aftercare calls from them to find out how my pet (at the time) was doing at home. Dr. Gomma and his family have become a part of my animal (extended) family. Lets not kid ourselves here, we are dealing with animals not children so to treat them as the later is ignorant! You are not taking your animal to a pediatrician! My animals have lived healthy long lives do in part to the care they received at Abbott Animal Hospital. I am a huge fan and will never go anywhere else. I have read some of the other comments, one in particular who rated this practice with one star. I'm sorry they had a bad experience but they were one of the outliers, the general consensus and comments for Dr. Gomma's practice is stellar. Read the other reviews they are more indicative of the care you will receive.

I just recently started going to this hospital after moving into the area. I've mostly only dealt with Dr.Gomaa Sr, and I've been thoroughly impressed not only by his knowledge but his compassion. He treats your animals as if it were his own. Too many vets are overly money hungry these day. I understand it's a business to be run...however the compassion/morality side should not be compromised for money. Dr.Gomaa is far from money hungry, which is very admirable compared to his counterparts. He works with you emotionally and financially to ensure your animal gets the best treatment needed. He's very straight forward and will tell you how it is. I have full confidence that all my animals will be treated with the utmost care at this hospital. I also think it's awesome that they offer stem cell treatment here. That shows me that they are on the top of their game, keeping up with medical advancement. All prices at this hospital are among the lowest you will find. They are not looking to empty your pockets by any means. They are only looking to give the best care and treatment possible for your beloved pet kiddos. The only negative aspect I've found thus far, is towards whoever answers the phone after hours during emergency hours. I'm not sure if it's Dr.Gomaa Jr. or a vet tech, but they aren't very knowledgeable and are very short. I've called twice after hours in concerns over my very sick cat and was not impressed. They did not understand the situation at hand and/or also gave bad advice. (One being that an asthma inhaler is considered a beta blocker. I'm assuming they were thinking of Atenolol. I made it very clear that I said Albuterol asthma inhaler, not blood pressure pill. My cat has a bad heart, so that mistake could have possibly hurt my cat). I stopped calling after hours, and strictly wait to speak to Dr.Gomaa Sr. Even with that being said, I still give this hospital a high rating. Thanks!

I first off have to say that Dr. Gomaa is the most compassionate and caring doctor I have ever dealt with! He took such good gare of my Lab who unfortunately passed due to terminal cancer. I went to Abbott because I was getting the run around by Ocean State Vet Specialists. They kept making me do all these tests and spending all this money and the results were very disappointing. I do not believe they know anything at Ocean State. So I decided to pull my dog from their care and go to Abbott. Dr. Gomaa was so great, he took the time to explain everything in detail which Ocean State people would get short and snappy when I asked them a question. Dr. Gomaa took over an hour sitting with me and making me feel so good about myself and cared for me and my dog during this hard times. I can go on and on about how wonderful he is but I am sure he knows and all you people know how excellent care and professional he is. Thank you Dr. Gomaa for everything!!! You will always be in our thoughts and everything you did for all of us!!!!!

My wife and I were referred to Abbott by one of our neighbors because or dog was not doing to well. She said they do 24 hour emergency which was really great. Our vet does not do after hour emergency and tries to send us to these other places where we have no clue who the doctor is or what the hell is going on, and all they want to know is how are you gonna pay for the service. So in any event we called Abbott and we ended speaking directly to Dr. Gomaa which to me was fantastic. How often do you get to speak directly to the doctor in any place let alone him answering the phone himself. So anyways, I started discussing what was going on with my dog because my regular vet was stringing us along over at Harbor Animal Hospital in Barrington and could not figure out what was going on with our dog. So Dr. Gomaa offered to meet us at the office, mind you it was 1 am in the morning. We got to the hospital and Dr. Gomaa was waiting for us. We were impressed on how clean and fresh the place smelled and how polite and enthusiastic Dr. Gomaa was. He did his exam which I have never seen someone be so thorough and ask so many questions in concerns with my animal before, my wife and I were very very impressed needless to say. So he told us we need to run some blood work, xrays and possibly ultrasound. So we agreed and he said give him one hour and we will know thee results of everything. We were very pleased the fact that he was gonna do everything right then and there and did not keep us waiting. He even let us sit through the ultrasound and explained everything in detail. I do not a medical background but I sure felt that I knew everything the way Dr. Gomaa explained everything. Well we finally got the results of everything and Dr. Gomaa said we had to run one last test to confirm his suspicions. So he explained the test in full to us and we agreed to leave our dog with him. The next day he called us and told us the finally results. Our dog was diagnosed with Cushings disease. This would explain everything that was going on with him which Harbor could not figure out and they kept costing us money after money and said nothing is wrong! So we started him on the medicine and we took him back for his rechecks. My wife and I were so amazed at how well our pooch is doing. Thank you Dr. Gomaa for all your hard work and dedication to helping animals and pet owners understand and appreciate what you do! Thanks again for everything and we always look forward to coming in!!!!!

Unbelievable, I am speechless at the care I have recieved since I started at Abbott with young Dr. Gomaa. I was referred to them from my vet who was not able to do a certain procedure. I was so impressed with the knowledge and the professionalism which Dr. Gomaa exhibited as well as his passion. I actually went to him as an emergency and he was so helpful with our situation. I will be returning to him just for the simple fact that he is equipped and has a 24 hour facility. I originally was gonna go to Bay State but to be honest they were all about money and thats all they cared about. My vet all ready ran all the tests that needed to be done but they wanted to repeat them all and cost me so much money. In any event Dr. Gomaa and Abbott are the best!!!!!!! Thank you for doing what you do!!!!!!

Abbott is awesome! This lady is freaking out of her mind! young Dr. Gomaa is amazing and every single person I have talked to love him. He is very compasionate and cares about all his clients and patients. He explains everything in detail and takes the time to answer questions. He even works 24 hours! I love him and the rest of the staff. Lady you must be whacked!!!! He did an amazing job on my dog with his GI issues! Thanks Dr. Gomaa your the best!

I have been going there for years and i have always had the father take care of my dog but recently the son took care of my dog. My 13 year old dog was perfectly healthy and within a week of seeing the son he put my dog on 3 medicine and cleaned her teeth when he should have known she was too old and couldnt take it. She died a week later (day after christmas) I paid him alot of money just to have my dog last a week. i wonder if she was better off not going to the vet at all. He said she was extremely sick, she was acting perfectly fine before she saw him and after seeing him and going on the meds she was never the same again. But the father was a wonderful man that was very kind and loving, the son was the complete opposite, he was very cold and distant and he wasnt kind at all with the death of my dog.
