Avoid these people at all costs!!! Donald and Rosalind Urista. They seem nice enough at first, but if you turn your back, expect a knife!! I rented an apt. from them for 2 years. They had finished renovating the adjoining apt. (duplex), and gave me a 60 day-notice to vacate, stating for no reason, they just wanted the apt. back to fix it up and rent it for more money. Donald Urista telephoned me, and scheduled a move-out inspection for July 17 at 1pm. He never showed up, or returned my calls to find out where he was, and if he was coming as agreed. A couple of days later, I received a notice of court action against me for unlawful detainer!!!!!!!! He filed this case against me on July 15, 2 days BEFORE the scheduled move-out inspection!!!!!! I moved out on July 24, and turned over the key on Aug. 17, the day of the court hearing. 3 years later, they took me to court again, lying under oath in court, saying that I was there until Oct. 14, and screwed me for over $2500.00 which paid for the improvements they made to their own property long after I had left. They were so nice to me when I moved in, saying that I could plant flowers or vegetables, and could use the garden as my own. 3 years later, part of their lawsuit was for damages to their lawn for my planting stuff without their permission!!!!!! They would even come by and comment on how pretty I made their property with my flowers, even stating which flowers were their favorites!! They tried to charge me for a brand-new water heater, even though they told me when I moved in that the water heater had leakage problems. They tried to charge me for repainting, even though when I moved in, the walls were not freshly painted, but were filthy, and I had to scrub them clean. They tried to charge me for recarpeting, even though the carpet was worn thin and even had holes in it, and was spray-painted by the previous tenant's child with the child's name in huge, black letters!! They charged me for fumigating the place, even though the place was flea-infested when I moved in, and had a constant ant and spider problem which they sprayed for while I was living there, stating to me that it has always been a constant problem for them at that property. I had to fumigate for fleas before moving in with my son, who was being eaten alive within 10 minutes of walking in to the place. (fleas don't bite me, so I didn't notice). Their son, who was the onsite manager, broke into my apt. when I was gone, to plug in a huge, construction type, orange extension cord connected to his refrigerator, because he had not paid his electric bill, and decided to steal my electricity, and help himself while I was gone, breaking the latch on the kitchen window, which they also later charged me for!!!!!!!!!! Another day, their creepy son was standing outside my living room window, just standing there, looking in at us, not saying a word. He scared the crap out of my son and I!! He laughed, and said he had been standing there for a long time, just waiting to see when we would notice him! After that, I was afraid to open my living room blinds. These people are despicable, and have absolutely no problem lying in court, along with their sleaze-ball lawyer, who also has no problem misrepresenting facts to the court!!! If you are looking at rentals, and meet with Donald or Rosalind Urista, turn and run!!! You will be sorry, and in the long run, they will rob you for whatever they can get!!!!!!!!!!!
