Ben Rush Elementary School, based in Redmond, Wash., provides education to student in kindergarten through sixth-grade. It offers a wide variety of subjects, including English, mathematics, science, social studies, geography, history and physical education. Ben Rush s parent-teacher association sponsors after school enrichment classes in Spanish, science, theatre, chess club, choir and art, including painting, drawing and sculpture. The school also provides computer classes include keyboarding skills, educational computer games and e-mail etiquette. Its band program includes a range of instruments, including flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone and baritone. Ben Rush Elementary School also offers PeaceBuilders, a research-based program that stresses on building cooperation, collaboration and teamwork, while reducing acts of aggression among the youth.
