This is an exceptional municipal shelter. In spite of decreasing budgets and staffing the last few years, the staff and volunteers take excellent care of the animals they find or that are turned in to them. The shelter knows most of the animals by name or description (quite unusual for a public shelter) and they work hard to keep the animals healthy. Redlands has a high adoption rate, due in no small part to dedicated volunteers who take the pets to many adoption events. Yes, you may sometimes have to wait on the phone or at the counter, but considering how short-staffed they are...I'd prefer waiting while they take care of an emergency, animal or potential adopter. (And, no, I don't work at the shelter. Stray dogs just seem to find me.)

The people that work behind the desk at this shelter are cold and heartless . They do not care about the interest in the animal only themselves. I have never seen so many heartless people. They broke our hearts, terrible shelter. This was our first and will be our last time ever dealing with a shelter. What they did was wrong and now a animal will suffer over it.

this is a great shelter. They really love the animals. If you are over 55, you get a special discount. Go and get a little friend.
