Service or Food?

When we found our seats, we waited for only a moment and someone was quick to ask for our beverage choices while we decided. That left me with a good impression.

I ordered the Chicken Greek Salad. The chicken was flavorful; there were enough ingredients to finish it. Only one thing lacking was the quality of the greens - was mostly iceberg lettuce and a tad stale at that. It could have used some romaine lettuce or other greens with substance.

My friend ordered a Mexican Omelet. I will state what we discussed between us. First, most Mexican omelet's come with cheddar cheese. There is NO cheddar cheese in this restaurant. Second, when we asked the server for some salsa and sour cream, again, none in the restaurant - not just this day, but Durresi's does not carry it all. The omelet consisted of chili, onions, and American cheese. The chili is the same chili as they use for the coney dogs - chili sauce.

The service was fast and courteous. She asked if we needed anything else as she was dropping the food off. She checked beverages and said to enjoy our meal. She came back in a timely fashion to check on us and came back again to remove any dishes that needed to be removed.

Our server was better than the food. One thing did disturb me while we were eating our meals. A manager or owner approached our server on a subject, perhaps to correct something; I am not sure, but the attitude, tone and the way that he brought about an issue in the main area of restaurant for all to hear instead of taking it to a private area. In my opinion, this is bad business and left me with a not so good feeling about the atmosphere.

The quantity was sufficient for both meals, but my personal opinion - It was nothing to write home about.

Good For Late Night Bites

The staff is courteous and most times fun. Although you must have patience, at times there is only one person on the floor handling the tables, the phones, the carry-outs and the cash. The food is average, but for after your night out and before your trip home, this is the place to stop in!

Don't forget to tip (industry standard is 15%), but remember, all servers live off their tips, not their checks! Be generous, the cooks and food supply is not the result of the person delivering it to you. (I noticed a table complaining about something THEY ordered and when the server made the attempt to correct it and replace it, they took it out on the server). Not upstanding on our part!

Psssss...Hey Durresi's - If you had some fruit plates and spiced up your salads a bit, that would be the icing on the cake!
