Took Steve's 6am Combat class Friday morning and OMG it was crazy hard but crazy good. I walked into this class thinking this instructor (also the gym owner) is almost 40 years old and it will be an ok workout. It's now Monday and I'm still sore. Steve killed the workout to a point you would think he just got out of SEAL training. But then again, the class is called Combat. Best line from class went something like this, "We do not stretch in combat class just like you wouldn't ask the guy or gal shooting at you to stop shooting so you can stretch your hamstrings - you all know how to stretch so get it done and thanks for making it through a another battle." Thanks Steve.

Had a great massage over the weekend by Lissette and decided to join the gym after how nice everyone was. Once I joined they gave me a complimentary massage. Awesome place and people.

Been looking for a place in Berks County that is clean and has no meat heads - FINALLY a place that has normal people.

My friend and I stopped by Down Under Fitness because we have never belonged to a gym and heard it was a smaller, quieter, more comfortable facility. It is a great place - Stephen showed us around, offered us a water or coffee and we felt like we were home. Friendly and comfortable.

I have never been a gym before until walking into Down Under Sports & Fitness and the owner and his wife were super nice and treated me with respect. They didn't push the gym, in fact they said, "every gym you walk into has a different personality and you want to make sure the gym you join fits your personality." Perfect place with very kind staff.

I just had the most horrible customer service experience ever while speaking to the owner of Down Under Sports and Fitness.. I purchased a groupon for a massage, it took me over 6 weeks to make an appointment because every time I called, I received a voice mail. Then when they do finally call back they told me both times, several weeks apart, that their massage therapist just quit. I can see why, if they are this awful to their customers, I can't even fathom how terrible they are to their employees. So they finally had a time slot available in 2 weeks, so I made the appt. Seems terrible they are selling these groupon they do not have staff to fulfill. Down Under Sports and Fitness called me today to confirm my appt and ask me for the groupon voucher number. I was driving home from work and asked that they call me back in an hour. (Granted the Groupon voucher specifically say to present upon arrival.) I specifically said before we hung up the phone I was definately coming to my appt. Then a minute later the owner called me back and said that my groupon was revoked, to call groupon for my money back and hung up the phone on me. I tried calling back to discuss and they continually hung up the phone one me. I was shocked a business can continue like this. I called groupon for my refund, and Groupon informed me that a business can not ask for the groupon voucher number prior to the service. If the voucher number is given prior to the service, the business could redeem the voucher and not provide the service. In my opinion, I fear that this may be happening. It terrible. So, am I really supposed to stop driving one a 4 lane high way in rush hour traffic to accommodate them, I am the customer. My voucher was in my purse, in the backaeat. It's makes no sense why they require the voucher number before if they are a legitimate business. If I don't have a groupon when I show up, I simply pay for the service I made the appt for. Otherwise why would I make the appt. I would stay away from this business. Do not join this gym, do not purchase a groupon from them, something is really fishy here.. They are located at VF Outlet. Avoid Avoid Avoid!!
