I called today to find out the necessary rough opening for my garage. I wanted the minimal size and the owner said he doesn't give out free information and hung up on me. I drove over to explain that I've already purchased two doors from them and use them every year for maintenance and he said that since I've already purchased two doors then I should know the rough opening. I said I don't know the opening size. Sorry, I'm not a contractor. He said it could be 12 inches. Really? You guys make a door 12 inches tall? Super rude guy. Refused to take my calls. I then called Knechts at 605-342-3355 if you need the number and they were terrific. Told me they could special order a door if the opening were only 7 feet tall but explained the advantages to having the building 8 feet tall. Also called the Overhead Door Company in Rapid City, and they gave me additional useful information and were very friendly. Their number if you want to call is: 605-348-8300. I didn't want anyone to think I worked for one of the competitors and was trying to sway business away. Can't believe this guy thinks he can be a successful small businessman and treat people this way. Stay away!!!!!!!!

If you work 8:00-5:00 and take lunch at noon, forget this supplier. These are their hours too. Nobody's around from 12:00-1:00.

When my garage door became disabled I called SD Overhead Doors for help. They responded same day, repaired the door quickly and didn't charge an arm and a leg for the service. Their service tech was very polite and professional. I'll definetely recommend SD Overhead Doors to all my friends and will call again if I need their help.
