Provided by YP.comThis place is HORRIFIC! They do not take care of the animals and sell them even though they are SICK! They sold a 2 month old puppy that had to be taken to the emergency room due to pneumonia and Moon Doggies wanted to have the dog PUT DOWN rather than help pay for the bill! They are DISGUSTING and should be SHUT DOWN!

Provided by YP.comI recently purchased a papillon puppy from Moondoggies. The dog is in excellent health, with the exception of having a parasite, which is being treated at Moondoggies' expense. Moondoggies did neglect to vaccinate my dog on time (they missed it by a week) but they readily paid for the vaccinations when I went to the vet several days after purchase. I didn't care for the staff -- I thought the manager was snotty -- but I love my pup so I tolerate the arrogance and lack of personal skills. I checked out the breeder who bred my pup and discovered that she is a reputable breeder in MO with 90 or less dogs and no complaints and acceptable inspections from the AKC and the USDA. ordinarily do not purchase animals from pet stores but I made an exception this time and I'm glad I did.

Provided by YP.comI've been visiting this Moondoggies every time I go to Victoria Gardens for about 5 years now, and I became more and more distraught each time I visited. :(
The "staff" at Moondoggies is just horrifying. They mistreat the puppies by neglecting to clean out their cages, leaving the puppies to walk about in their own feces and urine... IN FRONT OF THE ONLOOKING CUSTOMERS! And that is not even close to being the worst part.
A very close personal friend of mine used to work at Moondoggies, and recently he told me that the things he saw made him quit after only working there a couple of weeks, especially being the huge animal-lover he is. He explained to me that employees were told by upper management that if a puppy looked like he or she were acting too hyper or "naughty", they may need to be sedated, "just in case a customer were interested in pursuing the purchase of that specific puppy". SEDATION?! I couldn't believe it at first, but then it started to make sense. I've held puppies there who were so calm, it seemed impossible.
He also told me once that Moondoggies was in danger of being shut down quite a few times because it had been speculated that the puppies they sell come from puppy mills, but apparently nobody was ever able to prove it.
All of this information made me so sad. From the day my friend told me these things, I promised myself to never visit Moondoggies again. Even seeing those little things trot about in their own waste was just despicable, it should've been enough for me to stop visiting.
I suggest that you not visit Moondoggies, at ANY of their locations.

Provided by YP.comI bought a pekingese puppy last year. The staff was very friendly. We spent as much time as we wanted with the dog prior to the purchase. He is a wonderful addition to our family! I've been in love with my Pekingese ever since.

Provided by YP.comDo not purchase a dog or cat from this business. The dogs are kept in the smallest cages. If you ask to look at the dog/puppy they tell you how much the dog is worth and you have only two minutes with it. Ghetto employees.
