The patient comes in and starts off in the ICU, which is the best, provided and attended care you can receive with some of the staff in that so called hospital. Then if another patient from the other two units takes a hard turn in their condition which happens a lot they look in the ICU to see which patient is kind of, sort of stable to be taken to the units. The units is the worse place a patient can be especially when the patient does not have a voice or people to defend him or her. After being in the units for about three days you will find them back in ICU worse from when they came to that hospital. Very few patients are released to go home and then when you try to transfer the patient out they give you excuses to just keep that money coming in.

I am here to tell you this is a wonderful hospital with some of the most caring, compassionate employees you will find in this industry. My mother was here for SIX WEEKS. I am speaking from first hand experience. Either myself, another family member or a friend were with her 95% of the time she was at Kindred. (that is aLOT of days and nights) We watched this staff daily and witnessed their hard work and dedication to their patients/careers. Even though they are very busy taking care of many patients assigned to them each day, they still make time to chat with each patient while caring for them and have a laugh or two as well. They bent over backwards for me on several occasions to help make my mother either more comfortable or happy.

HERE IS AN IMPORTANT FACT - she NEVER got one bedsore the entire time she was there! They know how to care for their patients. I don't know how they all go home to their families and have anything left to give them after such long days working here but I sure appreciated them. It takes a special type of person for this work and IMO Kindred found the right group to run this facility.

All facilities have to be monitored, due to the lack of personal care, by some of the workers at this hospital. My sister was dumped from there once her medi-care was exhausted, and she only has medi-cal. This is wrong, she was sent to a hospital for an biopsy that did not take place, because the CT scan with contrast was negative. Now she has to be placed someplace else that only takes medi-cal, and no where close where I can check on her daily. If you put your love one in a acute care hospital or any nursing home, you need to be there often, otherwise, they will live a short life there, including (Kindard) Rancho Specialty Hospital. We need Medical Reform to stop these types of things from happening.
