WHAT IS THE HIBERNIAN PUB? Hibernian derives from the Latin term Hibernia, which means “one who comes from Ireland” or “cold, wet land.” The Hibernian Pubs were aptly named, as we wanted to bring a wee bit of Ireland to the Triangle. This place is quickly becoming a favorite hangout for us. We usually sit outside when the weather cooperates, but the inside is very nicely done also. There a lots of interesting "rooms" that each have there own look and feel to them. There is also an open bar area if you are looking for more of a sports bar feel. The wait staff is very attentive. The fish and chips are delicious, as is the Caesar salad and black bean burger. The portions are plentiful and we usually split something or take leftovers with us. They have a nice selection of beverages and the prices are reasonable.
