The Antiques Marketplace has been the anchor business for downtown Putnam, CT for the past 21 years, with over 20,000 square feet of exhibition space. In addition to coins and jewelry, our 130 antiques and collectibles dealers exhibit everything from furniture, lighting, glassware, pottery, art, books, and rugs to sports and military memorabilia, toys, and most other areas of collecting. Owner Jerry Cohen started collecting coins in 1961 and entered the antiques business full time in 1976. With patience and a win-win attitude, Jerry is always glad to give you the time you need to get your questions answered, and there is never a charge to look at your items and evaluate them. It is the biggest Antique shop I have ever seen, 5 floors! If you like antiques this is the place to go.

Be prepared to spend the day - a great shop for browsing with beautiful antiques and fun collectibles. A four level shop with maybe 300 spaces, about 1/2 are locked cases and the rest are open booths. Personnel are helpful and willing to call for a better price if the item is over $50, and there are always some spaces with special sales going on. Nice restaurants nearby for taking a noon-time break. I've bought many things here over the years and have always been happy with my purchases - I know what my friends and relatives collect so I'm always finding stuff for gifts too.

Biggest in Central New England

The help here is very friendly and the prices are fair. Putnam is a little town off I-395, but we thought it was well worth the trip. Four floors of displays and it takes a while to look at everything, and the whole price range is there, from a couple of dollars to thousands.
