Horrible. Contractor Lowe's sent out. I will never do business with either one again. A-1 tried to install upstairs unit that didn't work at all while they sneakily tried to order a new motherboard for unit that didn't work. I was livid. Demanded they installed a new working unit or take out what they already installed and I would go elsewhere. It took over a month in freezing cold winter to get heat. Over $8700 job that I wish I would have never allowed them in my home. Now 5 months later upstairs unit is leaking water down thru ceiling. Totally disgusted.

A-1 installed new units 5 yrs ago. No problems. Now getting the house ready to sell called to re-tape duct insulation (one place under the house). Apparently, can't just send a worker out to do the work - must be quoted. So A-1 sent man out to quote. Never got anything from A-1. Called again. This time a tech came. He said he couldn't do work bcuz it wasn't quoted. Called office again. Explained quote man already came. They said OWNER had to quote it. WHAT? Finally got quote, it was way high- $400+. We did the work ourselves. Too much trouble, too much cost. Now we are building new house and had them quote new unit for new house. Took 3 visits to get quote. Called 6 times to get on the schedule. Finally, receptionist told us owner only works 2-3 days a week and returns calls on those days. And what were we told? - they are running 6-9 months behind. Wouldn't get to it this year. Looking for new contractor for the job. Not sure what happened during 5 years but won't use again.

I have contracted with A-1 on four occasions, over a span of roughly 10 years. I have been completely satisfied with every job, in all respects. They installed 3 new Trane units at my home, completely replaced my downstairs duct-work and also repaired an old HVAC unit. They never charged more than their estimate, they showed up on schedule, the techs were knowledgeable/polite and Trane quality cannot be beaten.

Responded to an advertising card in the mail, thought that I would give them a try. The call was answered unprofessionally with a hello not the name of the company. After I asked about the correct number, I was told yes it was A-1. Told her the problem with the unit, she replied that it would be looked at the next week. 12 days later they sent a young man to do a service that I didn't request. Called the company and the office manager said that she would find out what happened. It appears that a New person in the office didn't understand the phone and evidently what was needed. The technician was New and he didn't understand the written order. A problem with a unit and they send someone to clean it which I told the technician that a cleaning was NOT needed nor requested. I understand that everyone needs to learn but I got bad communication and still have the problem. The technician was a sweet kid but I needed someone more skilled. The office manager assured me that they have been in operation for 30 years but evidently they have a lot of unskilled workers. She didn't suggest a follow up to fix the problem that I originally called about. Unprofessional all around.
