The Inpatient Medical Psychiatric Program at Hasbro Childrenâ??s Hospital addresses the needs of children ages 12 to 17, who are struggling with both psychiatric and medical illness. Diagnoses may include gastrointestinal illnesses, eating disorders, diabetes, asthma, seizures, pain syndromes, somatoform disorders, and complex presentations needing diagnostic evaluations. Our modern, comfortable and secure 16-bed unit offers both private and semi-private rooms and areas for family, group and milieu therapy. The typical length of stay varies from several days to weeks and we are able to separate patients into smaller, age-appropriate groups as needed.
