I reserved a car for pick up at 8AM and when I got there, they told me the car was not there. I had to wait an hour for them to get a car from someplace else and it wasn't filled up at all. This made us late for our long road trip we had planned. When the guy got back with the car key, he handed it to the clerk at the counter and she was on the phone carrying on a private conversation that lasted 10 minutes. After she finally got done, she gave us the keys to the vehicle. I returned the car 24 hours earlier and dropped the key with the information into the drop box, stating that I returned it 24 hours sooner. However, they said that, since they were closed, I was going to be charged for the entire rental period, and that they can't adjust the bill to reflect my early return. I will never rent from Hertz again and will only continue renting from my previous Prescott car rental company. They always have the car ready on time and they always adjust my bill, when I turn the car in early, EVEN if they are closed. I just mark my changes on the sheet and drop it with the key and they adjust it. Warning to anyone thinking about doing business with Hertz: You will not be treated well and nobody cares if you become a return customer or not. Do not rent from them!!!
