I purchased a used 2010 Nissan Pathfinder from Port City Chrysler on 8/9. I did get a fair price on the Pathfinder, but the follow up and delivery was poor. After I signed the necessary paper work and left with the car, I noticed that the car wasn't even detailed or filled with gas. I had to stop to get gas on the way home, while doing so I noticed that the gas cap cover would not close. No big deal, but I would think that a dealership would go over the vehicle before I took possession of it. There was also a cup holder that was missing from the rear center console. I asked the salesperson if they could order one for me. His response was no since I got such a great deal for the car. Right then I should known what to expect and not have done the deal. I called PCC and told them about the gas cap cover. i was told to bring the car in. Service had lubricated the gas cap door and said I was good to go. They also re-cleaned the car. After I left , I can see the gas cap cover open again. I stopped by Port City Nissan, where they replaced some springs and corrected the problem at a charge of $52. Once I got home, my wife had commented how dirty the rugs were in the car. I just think when buying a car either new or used it should be spotless without and mechanical issues. There are some other issues regarding the idling that I have noticed. I wish they took as much time on my paperwork as they did on the condition of the Pathfinder.

Continuation of my follow up service: We have had our Pathfinder for 4 days, after our purchase From Port City Chrysler Dodge. I have noticed oil spots on the drive way where we have been parking the car. I called Port City Chrysler, telling them that I have an oil leak with the Pathfinder. Honestly, I want to bring the car back due to the issues I have been having. According to them, the vehicle goes through an extensive check before it is put up for sale.

The sales manager asks if I can bring the car down to the Service Department so they can look at the car. As I am waiting on hold, the General Manager gets on the phone. He tells me that since I had written a negative review regarding my deliver of the Pathfinder he refuses to service the car. He also reported that my first review was not truthful. Well here are the facts:

1. The gas cap door was faulty at the time of delivery; I brought the car back to service. The service department lubricated the door and told me everything was fine. Coming home the gas cap door is still broken. I take the car to Port City Nissan where hey repair the door for $52 which I have a receipt.

2. The car was dirty upon delivery; they re-cleaned the car while attempting to fix the gas cap.

3. I was told that since I received a great deal on the Pathfinder they wouldn’t order me a missing pull out cup holder for the middle console. But they did deduct $50 dollars. I have no idea where that $50 was deducted. I later found out the cup holder is $146.

4. Sales Manager did tell my wife that perhaps I was unfamiliar with the function of a gas cap door. Which I find extremely unprofessional.

5. There was a minimum amount of gas in the vehicle which I would think as a courtesy would have perhaps filled the tank once you pick up the vehicle.

I am astonished that a car dealer can refuse a customer service due to the fact they initially received poor service after purchasing a car from them. You would think that they would take the opportunity to look at the vehicle and make the necessary repairs. But to have the General Manager of Port City Chrysler tell me he refuses to service a vehicle which I purchased 4 days ago and then to close our conversation with “Good Luck to you” is rude and unprofessional. I would never recommend them to anyone for the purchase of a new or used vehicle.

Horrible

After traveling from Boston to Portsmouth; I was looking for friendly faces and fully enjoy my car buying experience. I have been looking for over a year for a two-seater convertible and have been really upset with the lack of integrity of some of these places, however, this experience had to have topped them all. After finding their cars online, I decided to make the trip to check out a very nice car possibility. I had Ryan and Carl? double teaming me to buy the car. Ryan just stayed silent and Carl insulted me and successfully convinced me that my car was 11,000 dollars less than what it was worth!......yeah, I can't believe it myself.

I know that car dealerships need to make their money but what I encountered there was totally out of line and they totally took advantage of a young female trying to find a car. Not only was I pressured to make a unreasonable decision, I ended up leaving to come back the next day with my final decision. The next morning, I received a call that there was a problem with my check. Capital One actually declined their offer because they tried to sell it to me for WAY TOO MUCH! My own creditor saved me. After going back and forth on the phone and speaking with the financing officer John, he told me that he is going to try to go through his banks. Ran my credit-----I was already approved for the car! Just not at the price they were trying to sell it to me for!

I felt so stupid and manipulated. the next morning I knew that I was making a mistake for even considering their offers. I wanted to trust that there were some kind of good car sellers but they were so good that I couldn't even see right. I was so confused by everything and they kept on giving me so many different stories as to what was going on, I knew that I was being taken advantage of the next morning.

Why can't women buy a car without being hustled or manipulated. Now what do I do?????

I am a very reasonable person and I just wanted to have a great experience with buying a car. I am so upset with their selling practices, and how I was treated that my lawyer recommended that I file a complaint against this dealership with the BBB....none the less, I left without a new car and my dignity.

Do not buy here! Steer clear!
