We have been putting off mattress buying forever, but when my husband's back kept hurting, we decided our 17-year-old mattress was the problem. Anyway, we loved that we didn't have to travel more than a mile from our home & the shopping experience was surprisingly pleasant! That is half the reason I am taking the time to write - it was actually fun.The owner ended up helping us. We loved her! Locally owned (cool!) and she really seemed to care. No pressure - she gave us time to really try a lot of beds without feeling weird. I also didn't feel any pressure to buy more expensive, which I hate. She asked us questions that really helped us figure out HOW we sleep. Kinda like a sleep therapist...I can't remember her name, but she was very caring & super smart.We ended up getting a gel memory foam, made in the USA (cool!). It is heaven! And the best news - half the price of a tempurpedic. It was delivered days later, by a super professional guy named Mark (who actually replaced the mattress cover when he noticed it got the tiniest snag from set-up -- we wouldn't have even noticed - so thank you, Mark!). He is the other reason I am writing - who is that thorough & conscientious any more!? We figured he was the other owner, but he explained he was their employee. And he came within the exact hour time frame he said he would.We LOVE our bed, our new headboard and the Mattress Lot! And best news, no more back problems - Thank you all!

We needed a mattress for our growing teenage son and received great advice about what would work well in our price range. They delivered the same day! Two friendly delivery guys that we felt comfortable with arrived, and were very pleasant and efficient moving the new one in and the old one out. And they didn't smell like smoke!

We have needed a mattress for our guest room for several years. After buying several different mattresses for our own bedroom and feeling quite disillusioned by the entire experience and final products, we were not looking forward to the task of buying yet another bed. We walked into Mattress Lot and were greeted by the owners, Michael and Mary Ruth Hanna. They both are simply wonderful. There was no pressure to spend more than we wanted to spend and we were assured that we could buy a fine mattress with our budget. The mattress was delivered the NEXT DAY, on time, and they took our old one away. I tend to take naps on this new comfy guest room bed instead of my own! We can't wait to buy another bed from Mattress Lot!

It was time to buy a new mattress. We were not sure what we wanted but we knew we wanted to buy local, so we checked out the Mattress Lot. The staff is really helpful with no hard sell or pressure to buy - just lots of good information. We bought a new king size, pillow top mattress made with an organic cotton top and a wood platform frame- all made locally in the Northwest. They delivered everything on time, set-up the new frame and even hauled away the old mattress. They were a joy to work with, too bad we don't need anymore mattresses! My husband and I have not slept this well in years. I highly recommend the Mattress Lot.

I had just moved back to Portland after a few years away and needed a new mattress. I found Mattress Lot online along with a few other places and it was my 3rd stop of the day. I won't name the other two places I went to, but I can tell you this, there is no need to go anyplace but Mattress Lot if you need a new mattress. This is not some kind of a chain. The owners really seem to care about their customers. They respect your price range and don't try to sell you a more expensive mattress than you need. I ended up getting a latex mattress that my wife and I really love, and picked up a very good twin sized mattress for my daughter. We are very happy and I highly recommend Mattress Lot to anyone reading this.
