Webber Middle School, located in Port Washington, N.Y., offers classes from grades six through eight and enrolls more than 1,100 students. It uses a variety of methods, including hands-on opportunities and working as a team, to meet the needs and interests of students during their transition from elementary to high school. The teachers coordinate curriculum and resources with the students as the focal point, and the school s core subjects include language arts, social studies, math and science. It offers various extracurricular activities, which include after school enrichment classes, yearbook, student newspaper, vocal and instrumental music, drama and media, and an extensive summer school program.
