4/20/2016 UPS Store: 130 Shore Rd., Port Washington NY,11050

This store has the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. I would give -5 stars if it were possible. The owner has some real anger issues. I went to ship an overnight package and asked for some blank envelopes. He got real nasty and asked if I had a UPS account. He said why don't you order them directly from UPS. I asked if the envelopes cost him anything and he got real nasty and said no but I don't have many. I told him he had a real bad attitude. When I was leaving the store he followed me out with the trash and started banged it on the sidewalk. He actually punched the plate glass window and started screaming obscenities. I would steer clear of this store and this maniac!

The owner and his employees have a lot of work to do in the way of customer service. My employee called to get a price quote on a large printing job. She was given all of the specs by me and was told to call several places. A woman who will remain nameless answered the phone, and as soon as the words "I'm calling to get a price quote on a print job" came out of my employees' mouth, the woman stated "we don't give price quotes over the phone". Ok-I have a few issues with this type of response 1. My employee doesn't work for you and doesn't know what your "procedures" are in terms of getting a quote. Instead of telling her what you don't do, tell her what you can do. 2. The woman who answered gave no additional information as to how to get a quote from the almighty UPS Store. 3. You are in a customer service field-be polite, don't treat your potential customers like you don't need their business. My employee was surprised that the only information given to her was that they don't give quotes over the phone. So, being the good employee that she is, she pressed further. She asked if she could get the woman's name, as she was taking notes for me on each call that she made so that I would know what was said and what further steps should be taken to secure a price quote from each company, as we were going to call about 20+ places to find the best quote and best quality. The woman said, "why do you need my name?" My employee said, "because I am taking notes and just want to make sure my boss has all of the information so she can follow up". The woman gave some random last name, Probably her boss's last name, and HUNG UP on her. That's right. She hung up the phone! What kind of absurd business tactic is this?!? When my employee told me this, I decided to call back and ask for the manager. Being a business owner myself, I would never dream of treating my potential clients like this. I called back, and some man answered who claimed he was the "manager"-probably the owner. I told him that I was calling because a woman who worked for him had just hung up on my employee who was calling to give HIM our business. His comments were even more shocking than his ridiculous employee's actions were. He told me that she didn't hang up on my employee. But I was right there, she most certainly DID. He then proceeded to tell me that my "claim" wouldn't hold up in court. ?? What?? I guess he's speaking from experience-perhaps he finds himself in court a lot? I wouldn't doubt that if his quality of work is on par with his customer service. So, to recap: a potential customer with a large printing job calls to get a price quote. An employee states that no price quotes will be given via phone, and the doesn't expound upon that statement, and so therefore she is in essence saying that no quotes are given at all, apparently. Then, when a potential customer tries to glean ANY information from this employee, she is hung up on. And when her boss speaks to the Owner of the UPS Store, he calls her a liar. Apparently the UPS Store Port Washington doesn't know the meaning of good business practice and ethics, and doesn't want your business. So do them a favor and go to one of the many other lovely and helpful printing establishments in the area. Hopefully this owner will find himself out of business very soon.

Friendly folks. Next time I'll ask for a price quote before letting them pack anything.

Friendly folks there. But, I left quite disappointed. They wrapped a baby mattress for me in celephane (charging $10) only then to tell me it would cost $130 to ship it.

They could have told me it would be $130 in the first place and save themselves the wasted effort and save me $10 to wrap something I'm not going to ship.
