The staff used to be much nicer and used to have knowledge about the animals but in the last year or so it has gone down in service. The animals are now kept in filthy conditions. They have ferrets crowded in a filthy small cage. The woman who works there is always rude. I used to love this store but all the good people who worked there are gone. I rarely go there now. Only if I have no other choice and I dread it.

Been frequenting this store since they opened, not only because I live near by, but they are the most knowledgable about every kind of animal imaginable. Today they helped me re home tropical fish that have been in my home for several years multiplying happily thanks to their great advice and care. The store is always full of customers, so do not expect fast service, but you will get the best service so it is worth the wait. They truly care about all critters, wild or pets. We have tried all the other local pet stores and gotten minimal or wrong advice almost every time. We have turned to them over the years for a large variety of rescued critters as well as our pets, dogs, cats, fish. My sons have rescued just about every kind of small native critter over the years and they have been there for us to nurse them back to health before turning them loose, snakes, possums, squirrels, birds, lizards, etc. Thank you Bob's Feathered Friends for being there for us!!

This place should not be in business. They have no knowledge or just don't care about correctly caring for their animals. They have large rabbits in very small wire bottom cages. I know one rabbit has pink swollen infected feet & the cage was very dirty. The reason the rabbit has sore hocks which is what the infection is called is because of how dirty it is and the WIRE bottom cage. Some one from House Rabbit Rescue went in there and told me that: "Their paws are the least of those rabbits worries. He said their nails are so long they are claws, their teeth are over grown, they aren't getting any hay which is 90% of their diet, they aren't getting enough food or water, they are terrorized because they are right next to the boa constrictors, the cages are WAYYY too small for how big the rabbits are, they have diarrhea which means they are really sick since rabbits are not supposed to get diarrhea ever plus He asked a worker how long some of these rabbits have been here and he said over four months or so. Which means all of that on top of getting no exercise at all & they are all males with horrible temperaments because they have been neglected for so long they will never be anyone's pet." Tampa Bay House Rabbit Rescue went out there to look at the rabbits and see if he could take any of them but they are too bad of temperament and would need a lot of medical bills. I am appalled at the straight up neglect of these rabbits.

Best Pet Store

I've been going to Bob's Feathered Friends for years and I've gotten all my pets from there. Shawn especially is a great worker he gives all information needed about them and he doesn't try to make you get the most expensive things he tries to help you find what you really need and what's best. They are all very friendly and care about the animals very much. Best pet store I've ever been to!

I don't understand how this pet store only has 2 1/2 stars?! This is the best (by far) pet store in the area. I have been going to this pet store for the past 11-12 yrs. Everyone is very friendly and helps with every question I have. The store is clean, the animals are well taken care of. The people that are commenting about the dead animals and the place being dirty, I have never saw. I don't know if these people are trolls or not. I can't believe someone would lie like that. I'm sure at some time or another I've seen a couple of dead fish, but I have never had one of their fish die on me. I only buy my fish from there and my last fish that died was about 9 yrs old. All of my fish live the for years. I've bought fish, dog treats, an iguana, crickets, fire belly toads, fish food and accessories for all my animals. This is my main pet store. I really can't believe what some people are writing, I feel it's lies to be honest...maybe to promote their own pet store? I don't know. The reason why I gave this place a 4 and not a 5 is because they don't carry the bird food I want. They said they ordered it, but it's been a month and no food so I've been buying my bird pellets online. I do buys bulk lovebird seed from there. I love this place!

horrible place

First off i bought a bearded dragon from them and a week later he died. They gave my money back after they tried to just switch him out. I didn't want another sick or maybe too young dragon. i went some where else. Bobs sucks the animals are sick. and they still sell them with out telling you hold the truth about them. last tIme i went in there there was not only a dead rat in the cage with all the other ones. There way also a dead gecho. in one of the tanks to. they are a nasty pet shop. i will never go there again don't waste your money.

I have been going there for so...

I have been going there for some time on a regular basis and have not had any difficulties with the staff there. The owner/manager does seem a tad standoffish, but that is her problem not mine. I go to a store for good service and to make a purchase, not to make buddies.

Again, except for a couple of instances over several years, mostly from the younger employees, I have no big issue with this store and actually have added a link in my outgoing emails to local friends. And no, I am not an employee!!

I agree

I have visited Bob's for many years and needless to say I find their animals in acceptionally good condition. I have purchased many of my pets from there and they have all lived long and healthy lives. The staff is also knowledgable and understanding when it comes to my pets' needs. Their enthusiasm for animals motivated me to explore and learn about other pets aside from the ones i already own. They showed me that pet owning isn't about just taking care of an animal its about making a friend for life.

DISGUSTING

My First Time In This Store Was on Friday,It Was Apalling What Some Of The Conditions The Animals Were Living In. I Will Not Be Returning To This Store And I Say If You Can't Take Care Of The Animals The Right Way, Then Quite Frankly You Shouldn't Be Trying To Sell Them! I Will NOT Be Returning To This Store

Too costly on Lory Bird food.

I was quoted a price of $11.99 on a 3 lb bag of Pretty Bird Lory Food. This was $4 dollars more than their competitor at All American Feed & Supply Corporation

11709 State Road 52

Hudson, FL 34669,

who sells the same size/brand for $7.99.

Shopping around can save you money.
