We are a small friendly farm and believe in providing a safe, caring place while bringing horses and riders to their full potential. We show in open USDF shows as well as Arabian breed shows and host the LPSDC Schooling Show Series using graduates of the "L" Dressage Learners program as our judges. The farm is family owned by Herman and Kathy Aguayo with resident trainer and instructor, Meghan ( Fisher ) Markham. Sawda Equestrian Center has been located in Port Orchard, Washington for the past 25 years. The farm started in 1979 in Ojai California with a 3/4 Arabian mare who was a Witez II daughter, followed in 1981 with a yearling Arabian colt, Prince Sawda. Following Herman's retirement from the Seabee branch of the US Navy, the farm and its 8 horses relocated to the Pacific Northwest in the summer of 1983. The main emphasis during this time was to selectively breed the highest quality mares to our resident stallion, Prince Sawda, to produce athletic and utilitarian Arabians and Arabian crosses. We were blessed with an extremely prepotent sire in Prince, who consistantly stamped his offspring with a well laid back shoulder, large moving trot, correct conformation, intelligence, and loving attitudes. Here are some that are showing today. His 6-yr. old son, Sawda Shetan, is currently showing on the "A" circuit for Arabian Sport Horse in Hand and Dressage. He won Champion Sport Horse in Hand Stallion as a 2 year old in Salem, Oregon under the International judge Hugo Gore Vidal. In 2007 he showed in Training Level with Meghan Markham at five USDF A shows and has earned 41 points toward his Legion of Honor. Watch for him at the Northwest Heritage Arabian Show in April '08. His Half Arabian Pinto son SA Fair Dinkum took 1st place in his first Endurance ride in 2004. He has since won Reserve Champion Endurance for Region V in 2005 and Washington State Lightweight Champion in 2006. He is well on his way to earning his Legion of Honor with more than 32 points. His 22 year old gelding son, SA Wasim +, was Top Five at Level 1 Dressage in Region IV for 2002, Top Five at Level 2 Dressage in Region IV for 2003 and achieved his Legion of Honor in 2004. This was after being taken from pasture at the age of 18 and having no previous dressage training!

Terrible

All around bad service. The wife hates people and horses. Neither one of them venture out of the house and rarely know what is going on. Lots of drama. Mostly created by the wife. Mud most of the year. If it rains, horses stay in their box stalls. Nothing is consistent. New workers coming and going, they can't keep their good help. Terrible management.

TERRIBLE. Nothing is consistent. They never come out of their house to check on horses. Horses live in the mud in the winter and spring. Nobody cleans pasture water or buckets. No shelters in any of the paddocks for them to get out of the rain. They are shut up inside their stalls constantly when it is raining and don't have any turn outs. Crap shoot. Oh, and wife has no problem with cursing at children. Classy bunch. --Not--
