Provided by YP.comWe are new to the area and was in search of a pediatric dentist for our children. I was told to look up Dr. Carpenter at Godley Station Dental. After readying the reviews and verifying insurance, I made an appointment for my son. This was the worst experience I have ever had. While the staff was pleasant, Dr. Carpenter and her actions seemed horrific to me and my young son. He had to have a baby tooth pulled to allow his permanent tooth to come in properly. He was given laughing gas to calm him before pulling the tooth. The hygienist went into way too much detail and talked way too long to an 8 year old. It literally scared him and brought him to tears. He was so calm and easy going until this. Then, Dr. Carpenter didn't allow the numbing cream to work before giving the shot and my son screamed out in pain. She then rushed from the shot and went right to the tooth pulling, without a proper amount of time for the medicine to work. When she pulled the tooth, my son jumped high in the chair and wailed out in pain and tears. That just put it over the top. It was obvious that he was in pain. Dr. Carpenter and the hygienist both said words that no practice should ever say to any patient especially a child. They said, "that's not fair", "use your words", "that didn't hurt you", "don't act like that" etc. My son was obviously in pain, but he did use his words and said that he felt pain. Do not patronize a patient especially when you didn't use protocol. I'm not a dentist, but I know that you have to wait a good 10 minutes or longer to give the shot time to work before doing a procedure. You should also tell your patient sorry and try to make them feel good about your service without putting them down. This was the most disrespectful "dentist" or "professional" I have ever visited and will never go back.
