Terrible kill shelter. Took a kitten there to be adopted and they won't tell me what they did with him. I told them to call me if they can't find a home,They won't. Shut me out of the rescue process. They won't tell you how many they kill. Don't leave an animal with them. National numbers 70 percent cats are killed in shelters.

After waiting on hold for an hour and 15 minutes (and many calls )I called this place when I saw a"man" abandon a dog at the park in the hills of Claremont. The dog had clearly been abused. It was emaciated, eating grass and had cuts on it's body. I got the "man's" license plate. He saw that I did this and came back after 15 minutes to get the dog. It was obvious he didn't want to be reported and would abandon it somewhere else or kill it or God for bid, keep it under those conditions for more time. Little did he know the Humane Society couldn't care less about animals and protect him more than they protect animals. I called this office. The woman said " well, mam, he came back and got the dog so he DIDN'T abandon it". I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!! She was defending him! I said" Uh, mam, did you hear the part where the dog was starving, skinny and had cuts on it". Idiot animal hater said " Well, there is no way to find him now". I said " You have his license". Animal hater who supports animal abuse said" We can't find him with that". I said "have you heard of the police? This is a crime you know". Who was more evil in this story? The man who abused the dog , or the woman who is in charge of saving them and didn't care? I will NEVER give money to them again and I will spread my story to anyone who will listen on social media, in person and anywhere else. This is why no one supports this evil place. Look! All 1 stars. I wonder why?

The attitude from the staff and you can feel animosity amongst them. It reminded me of being at the DMV. Just not right...

Horrific place

Most horrible place to can adopt or surrender. I HAD to bring my dog to the Humane Society Shelter. I called every other day to check up on my dog. First time I called, the staff was very unfriendly, but my dog was fine. The second time I called, the staff was very friendly and he told me my dog was fine and they wouldn't kill the dogs unless they were over-populated. I couldn't believe I was sooo happy. The third time I called, they told me they killed my dog. How is it possible to be over-populated within 2 days?!! Usually they would at least let the dogs stay for at least 10 days, yet my dog was killed with 6 days!!! They didn't even notify me. Unreasonable. I pay $80 for that kind of treatment to my dog?! Talking about animal cruelty!!!! Aren't they ashamed?! I am very angry at them. If it was legal to not make a license for my pets, I wouldn't step a toe in their parking lot!!!!

Possibly the worst shelter in California. Dirty, sick dogs. Lazy stupid staff. Bad management. Nickname: "Doggy Dachau" because few escape alive. These dogs need homes MORE than most shelter dogs because of the dreadful shelter they're stuck in.

Read: Google the County of San Bernardino Dog Ordinance.

All dog owners that live in San Bernardino County, Google the ordinance that governs pets owners in the county of San Bernardino. The city of Ontario has a contract with the inland Valley humane society, but does not have an ordinance, the state ordinance states is vague that's why the County ordinance is what governs pet owners. The Inland Valley humane society is under contract for licensing, but they are not using the County ordinance. Please research for yourself Google San Bernardino dog ordinance, Google city of Ontario dog ordinance, Google violation code 6.1-203 it does not exist, the piece of paper the Inland Valley humane society is a dated piece of paper without a city or State logo. The County of San Bernardino Dog ordinance has their county's logo, look for the effective duration of the license 36 months not an annual fee.

This place is a horror. My family adopted a beautiful puppy only to discover she had Parvo. This facility knows they have dogs with Parvo but they refuse to take the necessary steps to prevent transmission of the disease. Our puppy died after five days. This facility needs to be put out of business.

Left Crying

I really don't understand these places. They exist to help little animals, not to take there little helpless lives away. I took in four baby kittens that were abandoned in a lot by my house. I was thinking they were gona nourish them and put them up for adoption. The first thing the lady at the desk tells me is " You know we have to put them to sleep ", I asked her why and she said because they where to little and they wouldn't survive. But they don't even give them a chance to see if they survive or not. All I seen when I walked in there was little animals with lack of love and attention. I walked out crying. This place depresses me so much. You really must not have a heart to work in this part of the Humane Society.

If you've lost an animal you b...

If you've lost an animal you better get down to pomona not so humane society and find it. Cause they kill more than they save. Ive been dealing with them for 25 years and they havent changed there lack of knowledge in several areas of pet care. Their in it for the money if you visit there new and improved facility you will see the only impoving that was done is all for the staff. Well im glad there all comfy now because nothing was spent on the animals. There still on cold concrete floors over crowded cells, yes cells like a prison and why is it they dont even have the common sense to place same breeds together. Instead you get to see dogs tearing each other up and they want to promote adoption when all you want to do is cry when you see the condition of the dogs and cats. Thats a sad feeling when you think they were better off on the streets I think their survival rate was much higher than in that facility.Next our donations will be buying the staff new cars before the animals get better living conditions. Sleep well my friends and hope you never have to sleep on concrete floors.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!...

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! I cannot believe the unsympathetic person I just spoke with...Unbelieveable. I'm trying to help my son to care for his 2 dogs while he's still recovering from injuries sustained while serving his country and they won't even talk nice to me. I have 3 dogs and he has 2. He's had to move from military housing with his family into VA subsidized housing because his injuries have been a handicap in getting work. They are living on the partial disability he's receiving and the new place doesn't allow for dogs. Inland Valley found out I had too many and won't even consider helping me to get a temporary use permit for being over the limit because I let the licenses expire for my 3 dogs (while I was unemployed...go figure) and because they got out 2x!!! I've lived there for 6 years and my dogs got out twice. And that's a reason to not give me permission? My son has PTSD's really bad and losing his dogs would not help that situation - this woman wouldn't even hear me say that I've been fixing things, all she cared about was that there were problems in the first place - because no one ever has problems, right? no one ever lets a registration expire, right? no one's dogs ever get out of the fence when a fenzy and fireworks are going off, right? What a total F'n B!!!! And they try to help animals? my behind! it's put up or shut up - give us our money, pay your fines, don't be late and we'll be nice. screw up even a tiny bit and disregard the fact that you have ample property, that your dogs are healthy and happy and that you're heart would break if you lost even 1 for any reason, not even going into the issues with my son. I HATE THE IVHS!!!! if they treat the animals as poorly as they treat humans, then they should be shut down! And why is it that none of my calls about the frenzy of yiping little ankle biters. B@&%...Capital "B"

Not So Humane! We called the I...

Not So Humane! We called the Inland Valley Humane Society (IVHS) to report 2 abandoned dogs within their region of responsibility as contracted by the city. The dogs sat under a tree for 3 days and we called them 4 times. They never came. I couldn't stand to leave them any longer and took them home. One of the dogs didn't get along with mine at home. She was a purebred boxer and wonderful with all people, just too dominant with other adult dogs. After spending an entire day calling rescues, I took her to the IVHS thinking the HUMANE SOCIETY will take good care to adopt her. I left a full report on the dog and my phone number in case they couldn't place her. After the holding period was up I didn't see her advertised on the website, so I called and they said her file said pending. When I asked what that meant, he said "I don't know." A week later...still not on the website, I called again and was told she was put-down because "apparently she was aggressive."

Everyone should know that the IVHS is no different from any other animal shelter that regularly euthanizes animals. Don't let the well known phrase "Humane Society" fool you!

customer service sucks!

while i respect what the humane society does, the customer service at this place is crap. the people they hire to answer the telephone must be among the stupidest people alive. if you can even get through after being on hold for 20 minutes, you will get the pleasure of speaking with a marginal idiot. God forbid anything should go wrong while you send away for your dog's license because you will never get through to speak to anyone...the licensing 'supervisor', i believe her name is Moneeka or Boneeka or something will NEVER call you back. and if she is the supervisor, you get the drift. these geniuses decided to start an online licensing program using PayPal when they can't even handle regular licensing applications via check and snail mail. the person who answers the calls may as well be saying 'duh' because (and this is only if you get through) i think the dogs are the smartest ones working there. how hard is it to cash a check and mail a license out? this place sucks and i am ashamed to live in its service area. especially when they send you late fees for a license for an application that THEY lost. screw this place.
