My neighbor hired Top Notch to trim a tree. They had to use my yard to get the service truck in. They damaged my fence by running into it with the service truck. My shrub had several branches broke because they dropped large logs on it. They left huge branches in my yard with my gate left open. I am sure the gate was left open because the branches were 6 feet high and 12 feet long and in the way of the gate. I contacted Top Notch 3 times only to get an answering machine. first message asking if they would be coming back to get the branches out of the yard. 4 hours later same question still remaining nice. Decided to go to the neighbors who are renting the home the renter told me he had no idea all the branches had been thrown in my yard. He informed me the landlord made a deal to do the cleanup. I then decided if I want the gate shut I would need to pull the branches out. So my 66 year old mother and myself drug the branches to the side of the yard. My mom’s skin is thin so she tore her hands up. Gloves would have been nice but we had none. When done I was able to see all the damage they left in my yard... I left one more message I told them they should have put the limbs in the yard of the person that hired them and it lacked integrity to not contact me and let me know of the damage. if they made an agreement with the neighbors to not do any clean up well, they should have put the branches in the neighbor’s yard. . I get it things just happen however, an apology shows integrity. Going on day 2 and they have not called me back. I have 3 stumps and one tree that will need to come out ASAP. I WILL NOT HIRE TOP NOTCH! I also have a face book and I will share and they will share and so on and so on. Not how I would run a business.

I had Top Notch come remove a tree and trim some of the other trees in my yard. They did such an excellent job. They were very friendly, and I could tell they wanted to do their very best. It did not take them very long, and when I went out to see their finished work, it looked amazing. I was very pleased with their work, and it was affordable. I will definitely use them again! I have recommended them to my friends and family. I saw the bad reviews on this page, and I wanted to make it known that they really are a great business to work with.

We are so glad that Top Notch Tree Service has added landscaping to the list of services they provide. We've enjoyed two successful yard transformations with them. Originally we had our front and side yard completely overhauled - everything down to the dirt removed, reshaped, and changed to our specifications. We found Top Notch to be hardworking, diligent, and professional on every level. Additionally, they kept the neighbors informed of things that would effect them. This season we had a paver patio installed in the back yard. Access to our yard required tractor traffic on our neighbor's front and side yards. When the job was finished, Top Notch left the neighbor's yard looking as nice as it did before they started. We would strongly recommend Top Notch Tree Service.

I've worked with Top Notch Tree Services for the past five years and I have no complaints about the work they have done. Every year they take care of my lawn services but have also done a number of other projects, including 'hardscape' walls for flower beds and a very extensive gate system that they designed and built from scratch.I'd recommend them at anytime for landscape needs. I have also found them easy to work with and fair with project costs.

They did an estimate and said $800 for trimming, and then the bill arrived in the mail for $2200. I tried talking with them, and the Father said the $800 estimate was for just one tree. I asked why he would do an estimate for one tree when I wanted several trimmed. He said he was guessing at what I would have done. He did admit that he should have written an estimate for everything I wanted, but he wouldn't budge at all on the bill. We tried talking with them, and didn't get much response- just lots of calls and letters saying to pay the bill for $2200. Though he did show up at my door without an appointment to say we needed to talk, he didn't actually come when we did have an appointment. Eventually, I just paid the bill. I will never use them again though.

This seems to be a family business. In our case, several years ago, the father came out and acted professionally, giving an estimate for several trees. A few weeks later, one of the sons came out with a work crew. He pruned two trees satisfactorily and then got half-way through the third before announcing that he would not honor the estimated price (for the third). He was an angry man, and I felt somewhat threatened during my conversation with him. He demanded payment in full before leaving, which was not part of the agreement. When instant payment was refused, he became more angry and seemed threatening in manner. Only later, when the second brother arrived to finish the job, was the matter resolved. We have not hired them since.

They performed a service we did not request and charged for it. They did a terrible job on a job we did request. They charged for it. They refused to send a copy of the original estimate, then claimed they lost it, then they sent it, but with the wrong date on it and with the estimate to match the invoice but NOT the original estimate (make up information much?). Then they showed up to spray a tree that THEY removed the year before. Tried to discuss the bill with them (since they performed a service we didn't request and we didn't want to pay for) and they refused, just insisted we pay. When we protested, they said they would remove the trees they planted for us (and did pay for). VERY hostile, unprofessional, and shabby job overall. Will never use them again.
