At his office in Los Angeles, Dr. Jeff provides personalized coaching and psychological counseling.  In order to help clients move toward their goals, Dr. Jeff balances directness with gentle confrontation, working with clients collaboratively to develop a holistic and highly individualized treatment or coaching plan.  Dr. Jeff utilizes an eclectic theoretical orientation, incorporating cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, humanistic, solution focused, and mindfulness techniques. 

Dr. Jeff has worked with a wide range of clients, from those struggling with diagnosable psychological disorders to those who simply seek to resolve and learn from common life issues.  His specialty areas include life transitions, communication, family issues, motivational issues, college student and young adult issues, goal setting and time management, overcoming perfectionism, insomnia, panic attacks and panic disorder, assertiveness, depression, anxiety, grief, and codependency.   Dr. Jeff also has special experience and training working with LGBT populations. 

Drawing upon 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Jeffrey Schnell, PhD, also works as a consulting psychologist for reality television shows.  His recent credits include Survivor and Expedition Impossible.  Dr. Jeff conducts assessments and clinical interviews for reality show casting, assisting production teams in predicting individual behavior and personality.  He is also skilled in on location debriefings and support for cast and crew, which may be as time limited as an afternoon visit to the set, or as extensive as presence during months of filming in remote locations.  Dr. Jeff is available for creative advising for producers and directors, and script consultation for writers.
