Kristen Millado, M.D., is a medical oncologist and hematologist at Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Millado specializes in benign hematology and treating genitourinary cancers, including bladder, kidney, penile, prostate and testicular cancers. Dr. Millado joined Miami Cancer Institute from Rush University Medical Center, where she completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology and was elected chief fellow. She has served on the Governors Advisory Council for the American College of Physicians District of Columbia Chapter and as a member of hospital quality improvement and cancer committees. Dr. Millado has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, the Journal of Urology and ASCO Daily News expert commentaries. She has also presented at national conferences, including the American College of Physicians National Conference and the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium. Dr. Millados goal is to deliver quality, compassionate care. She recognizes that each patients situation is unique and that a cancer diagnosis can impact lives in many ways. Dr. Millado believes its important to listen to each individual, understand their goals, help them navigate the complexity of cancer care and support them through diagnosis and treatment. She also enjoys being part of a multidisciplinary team and educating patients about the many recent developments in cancer treatment, including targeted therapies and immunotherapies. When she is not treating patients, Dr. Millado enjoys scuba diving, playing beach volleyball and traveling.
