I was a former employee at this location. They treat their staff like poo. Managers are totally clueless and never think ahead. They will wait to fix problems until multiple complaints are filed. DO NOT SIGN YOUR KIDS UP FOR SPORTS PROGRAMS. Terrible communication with the parents and you will end up going through an annoying return process that they wait for you to ask for instead of just issuing the refunds when the league cancels. Small gym, no pool and poor childcare for a ridiculous price. Better off going somewhere else to work out

I like Russell Creek YMCA ... they have lots of group fitness classes, equipment is new, there are always people there, but it is never overcrowded. The atmosphere is easy going and friendly. It is a non-pretentious place that maintains that family friendly feel. You can always see family members there exercising together which is nice.

I visit 3 YMCA's in my area (Plano, Russell Creek, and McKinney) depending on what class is being offered on a particular night. Although I do agree that the Plano facility is in much need of a face-lift, I've always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Regarding the Russell Creek facility - It's much newer, although smaller, and the equipment is in very good condition. The instructors are capable and offer a good workout and the staff is always friendly and helpful. It's a much different atmosphere than the Plano gym so you might want to visit the Russell Creek gym before dismissing it altogether. You might be surprised.

Run by the same people who run Plano Legacy location so while I have never been to this location I can't imagine it's any nicer than the horrible treatment of customers and dirty/broken conditions of Plano Legacy.
