Want to warn any pet owners. Don't ever go to Banfield pet hospitals. We went in for annual shots, spent $273 and they didn't even give his shots. They want us to come back in two weeks for a second exam and possible starting antibiotics for ear infection. Which will be more money. Then back again in two weeks for exam and shots. We were told the initial visit would be $234 for exam and shots. Pretty sure they are fishing for money. By the way the initial treatment they are doing for ear infection, Steroids. This nurse is not happy. Please pass along don't get taken by Banfield.

Never take an animal you love there

I would recommend no one ever take their animal to one of these clinics. I had a dog who had a blockage Due to the fact that he chewed up one of his blankets. He was very dehydrated and lethargic when I called and made the appointment. When I got there first thing they tried to do was sell me on their sales pitch Optimal wellness plan. They really didn't even seem concerned with how sick my dog was. The doctor came in And said we needed to do x-rays and all his bloodwork Before she could even rehydrate my dog. Give me a price estimate of $490 for just the x-rays and bloodwork. I told her I only wanted to do the x-rays at the time Because I didn't feel he really needed bloodwork we knew he was dehydrated there were obvious signs And we knew what it made him fall ill. Then said that the surgery was needed To remove the blockage from somewhere in the intestines they couldn't tell where. I decided I wanted to second opinion since they seem so wish washy about what was really going on Yet they were sure he needed a $1900 surgery. I told her that I would like to get a second opinion And then her attitude became very negative towards me and my husband. She said if we wanted to second opinion she could send the x-rays out for a consult but it would take a few hours. Why on earth would I want to pay another $65 to have another one of their doctors tell me the same thing. I paid for my x-rays and for them to see my dog a total of 280 some dollars. Then I took my dog to a real vet Who said surgery was not needed because the blanket had already reached his colon And they were very small amounts of a blanket. She gave my dog and enema and rehydrated him And immediately he was feeling better she sent us home with three prescriptions all for less than what I paid for just the x-rays at Banfield. If you care about getting your dog surgery when he doesn't need it Don't go to Banfield.

great!

I have had nothing but great experiences with my pets at the Plainfield Banfield. They clearly care for and have the best interest for my pets. The doctors and staff are very knowledgeable and very clear in their explanations. I will continue to take my pets to this location and continue to refer my anyone who asks.

steer clear of this place in p...

steer clear of this place in plainfield indiana. dropped off my pet for a vaccination for tape worms . they wouldent accecpt her because she had fleas unless we allowed them to treat them with fur shield flea medication ,after agreeing to this it was applied to her and shortly after she had an allergic reaction and went into a comatose state and unresponsive they recommended that i take her to an emergency care vet but not before i paid that days bill of 190.00. transferred to emergency they would only take her if i gave them a 200.00 dollar deposit. the dr there informed me that dogs that go into a coma dont useually return and are likely brain dead. he told me to check back in the morning to see how she is. luckily she returned from the comaand the dr informed me that it was the allergy to the fur sheld that caused her to nearly die. banfields policy to treat all pets that have fleas before they are accecpted into their kennels nearly killed my pet and they will not accecpt responsibility for allergic reactions that they caused. Thanks Banfield for your loyalty to a 13 year member of your wellness plan.I only give this business a 1 star rating though undeserved only because this page will not let you post with a zero rating..............
