Came in with a coupon for buy a sub and a drink and get another sub of equal or lesser value free. The girl that made the sandwiches was very nice and pleasant, but was unable to figure out the coupon. She first tried to charge me $17+ then $5+ and after 15 minutes of trying she asked an associate to do the coupon and she came up with $10+ for two $7.75 subs and a .99c drink. This was done by taxing the total amount of both subs and the drink then subtracting the free sub. When I explained they can't tax the free sub since it is free the associate looked baffled. I asked her to call the manager and after she was finally on the phone I was told that is the way Subway does the coupons! Seriously, I had just purchased two a few weeks ago and the price was under $9. The manager had no idea of how wrong and illegal it is to charge tax for a free item. My guess is she has no real management education and not only does not know how the coupons work but could not train the employees. I left without the subs because her response to me was, "I can't believe you're making such a big deal over around a dollar. It is the idea of allowing incompetence to continue and paying for it.
