Sargent Electric Company, founded in 1907, is an electrical contracting firm that serves the industrial, commercial and utility markets throughout the United States. The Industrial Group provides electrical construction and maintenance for industries such as steelmakers, chemicals, food processing, pharmaceuticals and general manufacturing. The Commercial Group has been the lead electrical contractor on major projects such as the new Pittsburgh International Airport and One Mellon Bank Center, a 55-story office tower. The Utility Group builds and services all types of generating stations and works extensively with switchyards, T&D systems and high voltage apparatus. The E&CS division installed the nation's largest single-city fixed AMR network in Pittsburgh. The company s Wireless Division provides turnkey tower erection, equipment installation and service to operators of cellular phone systems nationwide. The company has its headquarters in Pittsburgh, with a Midwest Division based in East Chicago, Ind., and a satellite office in Terre Haute, Ind.
