Provided by YP.comVery pleased with the work C.J. and Ian from McVay did at our home. C.J. was the air conditioning technician and he did a good job diagnosing the issues and explaining things. Ian came separately and he addressed the plumbing issues. He was very thorough and did a good job repairing the items that needed to be address and with his explanations. We would recommend them to anyone.

McVay Plumbing is honest and provides timely service in a very professional manner with a truly fair price. They are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me. Here's what happened: After having a clogged toilet (only one in the house) sewer line on Thursday evening 5/8/2020, we called various plumbers. Gillece plumbing arrived Friday afternoon, gave a quote of $800.00 and sent a technician Saturday. Then they told us we had a broken pipe under the concrete floor and it would cost $5100.00 more to jackhammer the floor and repair it. We threw them out and contacted McVay, who sent their plumber (Devon) who snaked and inspected the pipe and found NO broken pipe, only a "soft" clog. It was remediated for $275.00. There you have it. Trust McVay!

Provided by SuperpagesI'm totally amazed with the service I received from McVay. They were highly recommended by another plumber that I totally trusted. I would have never thought I'd be as comfortable with a contractor in these days. They repaired my sewer by placing a liner system. Every one on the crews for three consecutive days were professional, kind, and respectful of an older female client. I've had numerous occasions where I've had to interact with contractors as a female homeowner and I've never felt as comfortable and assured that I was being treated honestly and fairly at a reasonable price. To sum it up they were an answer to prayer and an absolute blessing. I will recommend them every opportunity I have to do so.

Provided by YP.comThis company is worthless.
I called on a Tuesday for an estimate to get my sewer line fixed to the main and they informed me they would pass it along to the owner who would go out and do it. No word from them and I call back Thursday and I get the same they will pass it along. Owner calls me Thursday saying he will call me when he is out my way and he can swing by then. I inform him that I can't be there as I do not currently live in the house, but there is an access to the line in my driveway.
He goes out Saturday morning and doesn't bring the wrench to access the recessed pipe! He says he will have to come back Monday to get access to it. Monday comes and goes and no word from him. I call him Tuesday and he says he hasn't been able to get back out that he can't make it until Saturday. I inform him I already had another estimate and I need to have a contract with someone by next week to be able to close on my house. He says he will go out right away. He call me that night and gives me a rough estimate. I say that's fine, fax me the estimate and we will go from there. He says he will do that at 6am on Wednesday.
9 am on Wednesday and I still have no estimate I call to inquire and the secretary says she will fax it out to me right away. Secretary calls me back Wednesday afternoon and says "bad news" she couldn't find anything on the estimate and that she called the owner to see what was going on and he said he has too many things going on and will not be able to the work on my sewer.
I had to constantly be on them about everything they said they would do and even then, in the end they did not deliver what they said they would.
Mike McVay, the owner, very critical of other plumbing companies that had done work on my lot but in the end was worse than any other company I could have wasted my time on. The secretary that I spoke to was short and not very courteous.
I would not recommend this company to anybody as they were a nightmare to deal with.

Provided by YPmobileI've used their service twice on different projects and can't even tell you how satisfied I am. They repaired a separation in the sewage line and installed a power vent water heater. Their prices are very comparable with the competition, if not better than the competition. I will continue to use them without any hesitation.

Provided by SuperpagesThese guys are the best! I would recommend them to anyone! We had a frozen water line outside. They spent 3 hours working on it. Being underground in and of itself was a daunting task. Nothing was working. They tried for 3 hours and because the line just wouldn't thaw, they didn't charge us a dime. The next day my husband dug the ground up around the pipe and called them back. They were back in 20 minutes and tried it again. This time it worked. Their price was super reasonable and it seemed like they genuinely cared. 5 stars all around!

Provided by SuperpagesI would definitely recommend this business. I called for an appointment, got one the same day. Joe, the plumber, called ahead earlier than the scheduled appointment and fixed the problems quickly and efficiently. He was in and out in under an hour and left the work areas spotless.

Provided by SuperpagesUnbelievable ripoff Our furnace stopped working so I called McVay Plumbing. Their courteous and clean serviceman said it would be in the $900 (yes, you read that right) neighborhood to fix. I searched online, found the part (hot surface ignitor) for $30, and watched a 7-minute YouTube video that makes clear how easy to replace this really is - moderately tougher than replacing a lightbulb, I guess. So, $30 part, maybe a half hour of travel each way to my house, half an hour to replace the part...pretty good hourly rate if you ask me. I would not call these people again if my life depended on it.

Provided by YP.comI needed a plumber twice when trying to sell a home. 2 differant home inspector's found 2 differant issues that had to be repaired. Both times McVay Plumbing was able to make a same day appointment and fix the issue quickly and at a very affordable price. I recommend anyone in the East suburbs of Pittsburgh to use this plumber.
