After failing to provide a safe and healthy living space, Lobos Management is refusing to return my safety deposit, despite providing me with written confirmation weeks ago that I would receive it. This false information has led to my being unable to pay rent at my new apartment and my impending eviction. Absolutely unacceptable. Some experienced transgressions include, but are not limited to, water damage on my ceiling that resulted in multiple severe sinus infections, not having access to water for over 24 hours, and unauthorized access to by bedroom by maintenance while I was sleeping.

Honestly an all around great experience with lobos management. I needed to move into an apartment quickly and they were able to accommodate me perfectly. I dealt mainly with Darren at Oak Manor and he couldn’t have done a better job. Professional and courteous.

I have been living at the complex since March and I love it. The agents are courteous and pleasant. Darren was my rental agent and he made my move an easy one. I recommend this community if you are looking for a place to live.

Darren showed us a nice apartment in a great quiet area and was very professional. We've been pretty happy with Lobos since moving into one of their homes.

My husband and I have rented from Lobos for the last 6 years. Our building is an older one in Squirrel Hill that needs regular maintenance, but we've been pleasantly surprised by our dealings with Lobos management. They're prompt in tracking the request by email (one time it got lost, but that's over 6 years), and the office staff is always polite on the phone. The repair guys they send out are cordial and professional. This week we needed the tub re-caulked, as the old caulk was falling out, and even though it's Thanksgiving weekend John came and did a thorough job of it. In the past they've sent Bruce to replace a ceiling tile that got rain-damaged. When the washing machine in the basement wore out a few years ago, they had a new one installed in a couple of days, so I never had to use the laundromat.
The rent's reasonable and the neighborhood's great. I know there are some bad reviews on the internet, but with as many units as they rent out that's not surprising. Our own experience has been good--or we wouldn't keep renewing the lease.

These guys are lying sacks of turds. The contract we signed originally had water included in the rent, but a few months in they changed the terms. Then the water bill steadily increased month by month until it was about $90 because there was a leak in another part of the building. They refused to reimburse any of the tenants for the extra cost due to their poor maintinence, and the rent never went down.

Also as a matter of course they will take as much from your security deposit as possible, saying things need cleaned when they don't. They insist on charging tenents for carpet cleaning even though there had definitely not been any done when we moved in and I never saw any carpet cleaners the whole time I lived there. They just charge you with whatever they think they can get away with.

F these A holes, please don't rent with them. They are rude when you talk to them on the phone once you are a tenent. They are the worst kind of exploitive scum, knowing they can take money from you because they have the power to hurt your credit score, they're smug about it and unwilling to be reasonable because of it.

I rented at Weber Apartments in Dormont for one year. I thought all the reviews calling Lobos "slumlords" was blown out of proportion. It was not. And I regret the decision I made to rent with this company.

From an overall standpoint, the employees are rude and the maintenance is terrible. I hope some of the examples below highlight their business practices:

Whenever I called Lobos for anything - not just maintenance - their employees were downright rude. I'd been belittled, hung up on, and made fun of while on the phone with them. Any phone call you make will usually be met with someone irrationally hostile.

Before I moved in, I was told that they would install grounded outlets and smoke detectors. That didn't happen. They didn't even bother to clean the apartment. It took several weeks of phone calls and a reminder that grounded outlets were a fire hazard the tenant would not be responsible for before they sent someone in. When my ceiling caved in from the broken AC unit above me, I spent two weeks breathing in the exposed, leaking, rotting boards above me before they bothered to fix it. It made me sick for awhile, since I have horrible mold allergies.

From an apartment-specific standpoint, I wouldn't recommend this building to even my worst enemies and unfortunately, I didn't learn about these problems until after moving in. Lobos' website advertises a washer/dryer in the building. There is none, so you have to walk to the laundromat. The mailboxes don't have working locks, so a lot of your mail ends up stolen. I had to start getting packages sent to my work after they were stolen 3 separate times from my doorstep. The building is poorly insulated so if you use their heaters (no thermostat - just AC wall units that double as forced-air heaters that smell like burning?) you pay an arm and a leg to keep it above-freezing (to keep my apartment at 65 degrees, it cost $270/month). As it's an old building, there's also zero soundproofing. Thankfully the tenant above me also woke up at 6am, because if my alarm didn't go off, I could wake up to the sound of hers. I could hear the 30yr old man who lives with his mother below me puking every Sunday morning after a rough night out. On the bright side, it made up for not having cable -- constant entertainment.

The cherry on top was when we started getting rats in our trash cans. Luckily they're skittish, so if you make a lot of noises on your way to take out the trash, they would typically run away before you got too close.

Lobos charges rent at either competitive pricing or just-below competitive pricing. And it's not even close to worth it. I'd rather pay an extra $20/month to be somewhere that I didn't have the consistant anxieties that Lobos caused. It's a wonder they're still in business... but I suppose slumlords can survive for awhile like that.

Warning Military personnel -- do not rent from this company! BEWARE!

They are making my enlisted son and daughter in law pay an extra month in rent because of a difference in 4 days between his verbal orders and his written orders.

Terrible way to treat those protecting their right to run this company!

AVOID. These slumlords have been doing construction on my apartment floor for 2 MONTHS, using illegal immigrants who cannot speak a word of english and yet all have a skeleton key to my apartment. Employees OTHER than the illegals (who are actually quite nice) are rude and have no regard for tenants. This company is extremely disrespectful. I have a hole in my bathroom that views into the next door bathroom, and the construction damaged by bathroom tiling but was never repaired even though I've complained 3 times. I am sure they'll take my security deposit for that as well. Oh, and they start showing your apartment to strangers after 3 months out out of 12 months have passed on your lease. They give you 12 hours notice. So be prepared to have strangers constantly in your place of residence and to have no maintenance work done. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Stay away from Lobos. I've lived with them for two years (Melwood garden apartments). Both of our apartments had mold and the ceiling in the kitchen caved in for one of them. In both apartments, the pipes froze during the winter. Two of my roommates had to move out because of mold.

Stay far away . . . .

I AGREE with taureangoddess86 - do not waste your time and money - I thought a decent rate as I was trying to recover from a divorce - well I regret it now. . . I should have kept looking...just so unprofessional and so tacky....

Take heed to all the reviews that you have read. I went to BBB looked them up and thought wow not that many complaints filed but that is because most of us still living in their building and do not want any issues after that - they are mean and nasty people - DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU ARE ON TIME OR NOT!! I have seen them be just as nasty to people who are late, paying with a voucher or on time all the time - they fix nothing and will make you feel like you are the bad tenant when you are not...

Read all the reveiws and believe them - stay away forever. . . don't even start me on the office personell. . . yet the maintenance guys have been nice - the only ones that I know that have been nice. . . don't call the office for any reason whatsoever - they treat you like crap . . . stay away!!!

If I could get away with not giving them a start at all - I would!!!

SLUMLORDS

The only reason I am giving Lobos 1 star is because the negatives are not an option. This is by far the worst place I have ever dealt with. They do not care about their tenants, or their buildings for that matter. They do not like to fix things and have ignorant people working there. EBONY!!!!!!!!!!! Lori is also far from someone you would want to befriend. They lie lie lie... So save yourself the drama and rent from someone else.

Oh yea! The owners Ron and Lori are LAWYERS!!!!! I always think of lawyers as being organized. They misplace things and forget to send you stuff all the time. Except for pink slips... They like pink slips. Even when there is no reason for them. What a organized bunch of people they are... Water shut off notices are sent out by the water company almost every month. They would before knock on the door, have me sign something and give me the shut off notice. It has now become such a routine for them that they just tape one shut off notice to the main door once a month. That right there should tell you about these individuals that call themselves a management company.

Water also leaks into my apt when it rains. They refuse to see it as an issue and therefor do not fix it. They tell you to put buckets down and catch the water and that it will not kill us. They are ridiculous, heartless people.
