KIKU emerged from Sushi Gen, a popular Tokyo sushi bar. KIKU's owners migrated to Pittsburgh in 1983, and were one of the first restaurants to serve sushi in Pittsburgh. KIKU, which was designed to resemble a tea house, has been serving authentic, top quality Japanese cuisine since. At KIKU, we approach the preparation of sushi with reverence. We believe it takes at least 10 years to learn all of the techniques of preparing sushi rice, selecting and caring for the ingredients, and learning to form those ingredients into a work of art. KIKU's chefs are Uchino with 28 years of experience, and Taku with 20 years. At KIKU, we also offer a variety of authentic cooked dishes as well. Some of the most popular are teriyaki and tempura. Our kitchen chefs are Setsu and Sumiko with countless years of experience.

The authentic sushi restaurant in Pittsburgh

They are the high class Japanese restaurant and as close to the real deal, as you can get in Pittsburgh. They have traditional dinning customs and a coses atmosphere.

There is mush more then just sushi (by the way) here for customers to try. Japanese food is mush different then other Asian cultures. there dishes tend to be lighter on seasoning so you can really taste the ingredients.



all in all i'd say it is the best place in Station Square.

however the manager is not the nicest of fellows and could be a lot nicer.

On the other hand everyone else who works there is a real delight.



In fact my boyfriend use to work there as a sever and the sushi chef use to him 'superman'! lol
